Baby girl name meaning blue?!

Hello everyone!

So I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] colour baby names. As colours themselves have so much meaning.

I love the meaning of blue because it means peace, trust and reserved to name a few.

My DH is Italian and I love the name [name_f]Azzurra[/name_f].

Which means sky blue.

Tell me your honest thoughts on the name!

Thank you

[name_f]Katie[/name_f]

Honestly, not huge on [name_f]Azzurra[/name_f], I think it might sound a bit made-up.

I went to school with a girl simply called ā€œ[name_u]Blue[/name_u]ā€ and think pretty alternatives are [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f] & [name_u]Indigo[/name_u].

Sorry for my negative response, but just being honest as requested  E x

[name_u]Cyan[/name_u]/[name_f]Cyane[/name_f]
[name_f]Azul[/name_f]
[name_u]Blue[/name_u]/[name_u]Bleu[/name_u]
[name_f]Lapis[/name_f] (after the blue stone)
[name_f]Livia[/name_f]/Liviana
[name_f]Meena[/name_f] ([name_u]Blue[/name_u] semiprecious stone)
[name_u]Neel[/name_u]/[name_f]Neela[/name_f]
Afina (blueberry)
[name_f]Azora[/name_f] ([name_u]Blue[/name_u] sky)
[name_f]Claramay[/name_f] (combination of pink and blue)
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u]
[name_f]Marilee[/name_f] (like the star of the blue sea)
Odeta (blue sea)
Okeley (blue sapphire)

[name_u]Navy[/name_u] is another blue-ish option.

Indiasa pronounced in-de-ace-a,meaning -blue morning.

I knew an [name_f]Azura[/name_f] once as a teenager. The name really worked for her, however spelling it [name_f]Azzurra[/name_f] isn’t aesthetically or phonetically appealing. It looks like a mistake, no offence meant at all but I would stick to [name_f]Azure[/name_f]/[name_f]Azura[/name_f].

Other [name_u]Blue[/name_u] names I think are wearable
[name_u]Navy[/name_u]
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u] (nn [name_f]Indie[/name_f])
[name_f]Sapphire[/name_f]/[name_f]Sapphira[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Azura[/name_f] is quite cool and spunky but the [name_f]Azzurra[/name_f] spelling just doesn’t look right.

Some other blue ideas are [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f], [name_f]Sapphira[/name_f] or [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] or you could go a little more adventurous with [name_u]Cerulean[/name_u], [name_f]Lapis[/name_f] or Lazuli.

So I know that’s the Italian word, but [name_f]Azura[/name_f] looks less made up to me. I think it has a pretty sound and is usable as a name; it’s just the spelling that bugs me.

I also love [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] nn [name_f]Indie[/name_f].

I favour [name_f]Azure[/name_f]/[name_f]Azura[/name_f], but [name_f]Azzurra[/name_f] is nice too. I like it.

[name_u]Indigo[/name_u] would be so lovely!!

Nice name but I prefer the spelling [name_f]Azura[/name_f]

My fave ā€˜blue’ name is Azula

[name_f]Azzurra[/name_f] is pretty…pronounced like an Italian: At-ZUR-ra (with rolling r’s)
