Baby girl name that strong but not frilly, something classic and age well

[name_m]Hi[/name_m], my name is Thuy Ho and I would like like to adopt a girl English name to go with that. I want something strong, classily but not too frilly and yet familiar. So far I have been really loving these names and I hope you guys can give me some advices on these. Also for reference, I saw a post earlier that talked about [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] Masie and I feel in love with it.
[name_f]Laura[/name_f]
[name_f]Myra[/name_f]
[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_u]Ellery[/name_u]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_u]Lindsey[/name_u]
[name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]

Some of those seem a bit frilly to me. It would help to know your age range too. Are you a teenager? In your 20s?
[name_f]Laura[/name_f], [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] ([name_f]Kate[/name_f]), [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_u]Lindsey[/name_u], and [name_u]Allison[/name_u] ([name_u]Allie[/name_u]) would be quite popular for a 20-something.
The first name that came to mind is [name_f]Thea[/name_f]. It looks a bit like your name.
You might like:
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_u]Tracy[/name_u]
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]/[name_f]Zoey[/name_f]
You could look for a name that has the same meaning as yours. [name_f]Amity[/name_f] means friendship. Or you could use [name_f]Amy[/name_f]. Very classic. [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] means friend too. I don’t think your English name should be too different from your own. Good luck!

I’m a [name_f]Laura[/name_f] and I love my name so I vote [name_f]Laura[/name_f], my second vote would be [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]

I agree that [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] works well. I think it sounds strong, feminine but not frilly.

Other Suggestions
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f]

Hmm. I’d say that [name_u]Ellery[/name_u], [name_u]Lindsey[/name_u], and [name_u]Allison[/name_u] probably aren’t as classy/strong as you’re looking for. [name_f]Myra[/name_f], while nice, is also the name of a fairly famous murderess, so that’s something to keep in mind as well.

The rest of your list fits your requirements better, although [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] feels a bit frilly.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites are [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f], since both feel very strong and sophisticated.

I love:

[name_f]Laura[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. [name_u]Ellery[/name_u] is pretty, but isn’t classic. I can see it as a nickname for something classic. Maybe [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]?

Some other classic names:

[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Michaela[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]

[name_f]Laura[/name_f] was the first name that popped into my head when I read your title, and I see you have it on your list, so that’s what I’m voting for

I would suggest:
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]/[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Danielle[/name_f]

[name_u]Ellery[/name_u] sounds made up and the most trendy, so I wouldn’t use that. Plus it’s not very well known. There is the Welsh name [name_f]Eleri[/name_f] that you might like? It’s said more like eh-LEH-ree, but it’s also very uncommon. What about [name_f]Eleni[/name_f]?

If you plan on living or visiting [name_f]England[/name_f]/[name_m]Britain[/name_m], avoid [name_f]Myra[/name_f] ([name_f]Myra[/name_f] Hindley the child murderer). [name_f]Mira[/name_f] is an alternative, but it’s the Spanish word for ‘‘look’’. There’s also: [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], [name_f]Mara[/name_f], [name_f]Mila[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f].

[name_u]Allison[/name_u] and [name_u]Lindsay[/name_u] are seen as quite dated - nobody uses them today as they were popular in the 80s/90s. Alternatives: [name_f]Allegra[/name_f], [name_f]Allexandra[/name_f], [name_f]Lindy[/name_f], [name_f]Indie[/name_f].

I personally think [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] are dull and overused. Also there are lots of differences in spelling and pronounciation depending on where you go, so that’s a bit of an issue.

[name_f]Elena[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Laura[/name_f] are the most classic and timeless to me, will suit most people and age the best. They’re also all very easy to recognize and spell/pronounce in all English speaking countries.

Some others you might like…

[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] or [name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Rachel[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
