Baby girl needs a name

How about [name_f]Effie[/name_f], called [name_f]Elfie[/name_f]?

I second [name_f]Elva[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]!

Hi there.

My birthday is on [name_f]October[/name_f] 6th! [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] & [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] are super fun names. I can see a little sister called [name_f]Elfie[/name_f], but it does seem better as a nn in my opinion. Maybe [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]? [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]?

Sorry for any repeats, but here are a few other ideas that I think sound nice w/Tallulah & [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]-

Azalea

Clover

Indigo

Juniper

Maple

Magnolia

Primrose

Sparrow

Hope this helps.

Congratulations on your arrival of another precious baby girl!
Many have mentioned names that would lend itself to nn [name_f]Elfie[/name_f]. However, while this is adorable as a baby, I can imagine she would be embarrassed to explain as a grown woman that her name was given to her because her family felt she looks(ed) like an elf. While elves are cute, I personally wouldn’t want anyone telling me I look like one as a teenager/adult. These are the names that came to mind that I felt would sound wonderful with big sisters’ names:
[name_u]Briar[/name_u]
[name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_u]Willow[/name_u]
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_u]Lark[/name_u]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_u]Indie[/name_u]

Alva/Elva!

I think it is so sweet that your first impression was that your newborn reminded you of a little elf and you began calling her [name_f]Elfie[/name_f]. What an adorable and original nickname. To get there with a formal name, I like…

Eloise [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellen[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]

Either [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] or [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] would be gorgeous with her sisters, and since they’re elves from Tolkien’s world you could totally call her [name_f]Elfie[/name_f] still. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a thought :slightly_smiling_face:

How about [name_u]Lark[/name_u]?

1000% love [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], meaning “white”, “fair” and in Gaelic, “vine”.

Another vote for [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]!

I think [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] are lovely ways to get the nickname [name_f]Elfie[/name_f]! I also think you could give another name and [name_f]Elfie[/name_f] could still be a cute family nickname. Either way, so sweet!

Other names I like for you: (sorry for any repeats, I’ll keep updating this as I find names!)
Aster
[name_f]Calla[/name_f]
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] - could do [name_f]Calla[/name_f] as a nickname
Camellia
[name_u]Cedar[/name_u] - I met a girl with this name and it was SO COOL
[name_f]Clover[/name_f]
[name_u]Dove[/name_u]
Indigo
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f] - I LOVE this one with your set. I think it has the perfect sounds!
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
Orchid
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f] - means “dove” or “pigeon” in Spanish
Petunia
Tulip

I have come across the name [name_f]Elvie[/name_f] several times - in Victorian and Edwardian periods. Not short for anything, just [name_f]Elvie[/name_f]. It has the same meaning/origin as [name_f]Elfie[/name_f]. I’ve also seen Elfin as a name.

Pippin
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_u]Silver[/name_u] (Australian designer [name_f]Sibella[/name_f] [name_m]Court[/name_m] has a dau [name_u]Silver[/name_u]).
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Delphi[/name_f]
[name_f]Eponine[/name_f]
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] ([name_f]Effie[/name_f] or [name_f]Elfie[/name_f])
[name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]/a ([name_f]Effie[/name_f])

[name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]

What about a name starting with [name_f]El[/name_f]- and a middle starting with a Ph/F sound?

Elena [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Phedra[/name_f]

something like that

Thank you all so much for suggestions. I’ve been really struggling with it. I think we prefer the name [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] out of everything and use [name_f]Elfie[/name_f] as a nickname.

Can I ask if [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] go well together?
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband mentioned it to his brother who said she may get shortened to fifi which im not so keen on. Perhaos we could ask people to shorten it to [name_f]Elfie[/name_f]?

Out of the other names suggested I like [name_f]Clover[/name_f], [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] and [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] and [name_f]Lavender[/name_f].

Off to talk to my husband.

Tallulah, [name_f]Meadow[/name_f], [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], [name_f]Meadow[/name_f], [name_f]Clover[/name_f]

Also thinking about Ostara, [name_f]Astara[/name_f] and [name_f]Alethea[/name_f]

Tallulah, [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] & [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] are gorgeous!

Ophelia nn [name_f]Elfie[/name_f] is particularly lovely. I know 3 Ophelias - not one is called [name_f]Fifi[/name_f] by anyone. I’m sure it will be fine!

Tallulah, [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] definitely feels like the way to go! The other four options are nice, but a wee bit expected. I love that [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] pairs so well with [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] but isn’t the exact same style, and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] does the same thing. A perfect addition to your set, but kind of keeps you on your toes, too.

Congratulations again!
