This is tough! I like both [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. However, I slightly prefer [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] as a fn and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] as a middle.
I prefer [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] it’s much spunkier and less old lady but is top 10 in Australia (not a problem to me but for some people it is) while [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is also top 50 (41) so there isn’t a huge popularity difference. [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is 157 in [name_u]America[/name_u] while [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is 93 so even in [name_u]America[/name_u] there similar in popularity.
I love them both! [name_m]Both[/name_m] give me pretty vivid images - when I think of [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], I always jump to Disney’s [name_m]Aladdin[/name_m], when Abu grabs for the giant, fateful, bright red [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. So the name brings me back to my childhood, and gets me really excited. [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] makes me think of [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] trees which I find so lovely, and Hazelnuts which are sooo delicious.
I’m going to vote for [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], only because it rhymes with less things so taunting would be more difficult. I know a little [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] who was known as “[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] Boobie” by the time she was 2. Yikes.
Honestly I think they are both beautiful names and both are on my list (as middles)!
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is definetly the prettier name. i once got a very smart tip.If you can’t decide on what name than after dinner every day for a week say each name 5 times like you are calling your baby. By the end of the week one if them will just be your favorite ans sound right on your tongue.
