Baby Hood Needs a Name

I need some help narrowing down two lists that have been narrowed down already. The last name is Hood. If it’s a boy, the middle name will be [name_u]Talley[/name_u] and if it’s a girl, the middle names will be either [name_f]Susan[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Joy[/name_f], or [name_f]Molly[/name_f]. I’m also not sure whether or not to use [name_m]Clark[/name_m] because even though I like the name, it’s my grandma’s last name and I’m not entirely close to her. At the same time though, I don’t want her to be offended that I’m using my grandpa’s, her ex-husband, middle name. What should I do about that? I also see her about once a month or so.

[name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] are lovely and would work except they end in T’s and [name_u]Talley[/name_u] starts with a T. Not a huge problem though if you really love the names! I wouldn’t go with [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Talley[/name_u] or [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] [name_u]Talley[/name_u] probably, even though I like those names too. Really though this a great set and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. I had to narrow it down somehow! :slight_smile: I would probably avoid [name_m]Clark[/name_m], especially since you have so many names to choose from!

The girls list is even harder to narrow down! Nothing sticks out to me as fitting poorly with your last name or any of the middle names you listed. I think I like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] best with your last name.

Are there any that are sticking out to you particularly?

I like so many of your names so this wont be easy!

[name_u]August[/name_u], [name_m]Clark[/name_m], [name_u]Elliott[/name_u], and [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] are my favourites of your boys’, though names ending in T don’t really roll with [name_u]Talley[/name_u] as they kind of smush into one name.

I like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] of your girls’. Personally I would avoid using [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a middle, because although it makes every name sound beautiful, it’s also the middle name of every other little girl born at the moment! [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Molly[/name_f] would be my chosen combo :slight_smile:

As for the family issue, don’t worry about offending anyone, especially if you’re not that close. This is your choice to make. And if you like [name_m]Clark[/name_m], use it. It doesn’t have to have any connection to your grandmother, just because its the same.

However, I agree that T- names for boys are a bit repetitive with [name_u]Talley[/name_u] in the middle and I think with the surname Hood you want a first name that’s at least 2 syllables long or it’s a bit abrupt.
