Baby Name Advice Line

A set of new parents are trying to reconcile different tastes, and they need your help. Suggest a name (or two or three) that matches the parents’ criteria and then offer a dilemma to the next player.

Example:

Poster 1 - [name_f]Cara[/name_f] and [name_u]Louise[/name_u] are expecting a baby girl. [name_f]Cara[/name_f] likes literary names, but [name_u]Louise[/name_u] wants something completely unique. The baby’s middle name will be [name_f]Renee[/name_f], after Cara’s mother.

Poster 2 - Elphaba [name_f]Renee[/name_f] or [name_f]Djuna[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f].

[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_u]John[/name_u] and [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] are expecting twin baby boys. One will be named [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] [name_m]Dallen[/name_m], after Malcolm’s brothers. [name_f]Jen[/name_f] wants to name the other twin after [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m], but [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] would rather honor [name_f]Jen[/name_f] with his name.

Poster 3 - [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] [name_m]Dallen[/name_m] & [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m].

First Dilemma - [name_m]Oisin[/name_m] and [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] are expecting a baby, the gender to be a surprise. [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] would like the baby to have a clearly Irish name to honor Oisin’s culture, but [name_m]Oisin[/name_m] wants something modern and easy to spell. The middle name for a boy or girl should honor Daniel’s mother, [name_u]Marie[/name_u] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_u]Leighton[/name_u].

Dublin Mario (boy) or Brigid Marie (girl)

John and Stephanie are preparing to welcome their first babies, boy/boy twins. They planned on naming them Ezra and Arlo but family friends named 2 of their triplet boys Ezra and Arlo the year before. They want their twins to have trendy but not classic names like Ezra and Arlo. Their middle names need to honor John and Stephanie without using their exact names.

[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] & [name_u]Luca[/name_u]

[name_u]James[/name_u] & [name_f]Emily[/name_f] are expecting a baby girl. They want something classic, but not too popular, as they were one of many [name_u]James[/name_u] & Emily’s in their class. The baby’s middle name will be [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], & her older brother is [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] “Ozzie”.

[name_f]Francine[/name_f] “Francie” [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]!

[name_f]Hayley[/name_f] and [name_m]Ben[/name_m] are unexpectedly expecting their third daughter. She will be significantly younger than her sisters, who are 20 and 18, named [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and [name_f]Amber[/name_f] [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]. They like trendy names, but want a sibset that goes well with the late-90s names of their other daughters.

[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]

[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] are expecting a girl! She will be joining [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Benson[/name_m], [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u], and [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Blake[/name_u]. They want her to a have an old fashioned first name and a modern middle name.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Addison[/name_u]

[name_m]Juan[/name_m] and [name_u]Maria[/name_u] are expecting a baby boy! They want his name to honour their Mexican heritage, while still being easy to spell for [name_f]English[/name_f] speakers. They also want it to be unique, having grown up sharing their names with classmates.

[name_u]Carmen[/name_u] [name_f]Alejandra[/name_f]

[name_u]Genesis[/name_u] & [name_m]Skyden[/name_m] are expecting twin girls! These girls will be joining their 3 other children. [name_u]Josie[/name_u] [name_f]Elora[/name_f], [name_m]Ruben[/name_m] [name_u]Wallace[/name_u] and [name_f]Ida[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] would like both of the twins to have vintage names that aren’t in the top 100 but are still heard of. [name_m]Skyden[/name_m] would like one of the twins’ middle names to honour her late mother [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f]. She would also like a name that is neither popular nor unique.

Hattie Gwen and Betsey Lynn

Harry Matthew and Alice Kate are expecting their third child. They already have 3-year-old Noah Max and 16-month-old Evie Rose. They don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl but the name should be the same length as the other children (you can see below, when the first and middle names are typed, both names are the same length). They want both the first and middle names to be ones that are popular in England (as the last two are).

Noah Max
Evie Rose

[name_m]Harmon[/name_m] & [name_f]Eira[/name_f] have very different taste in names. They are becoming parents soon to a little girl and are struggling to compromise on a name for her. [name_f]Eira[/name_f] prefers mystical, fairy-like or nature related names. [name_m]Harmon[/name_m] leans more towards modern, short, tomboy-ish or hip names. They would love some help blending their styles to find the perfect name (a few options would be great) If the first name leans more towards Eira’s style, the middle should lean towards Harmon’s and vice versa.

[name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] [name_u]Joey[/name_u] or [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f]

[name_u]Cameron[/name_u] and [name_f]Lara[/name_f] are expecting a pair of boy-girl twins. They already have two-year-old [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] “Leo” [name_m]Santiago[/name_m] and seven-year-old [name_f]Zara[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f].
