I think that if your heart rests with [name_f]Liliana[/name_f], you should use it. When somebody is given a name, that name takes on a whole new personality and so even if family members share a name I don’t consider it “stealing”.
“Name theft” is a fairly recent idea - in the past it was common for cousins to share names.
In this case it sounds like your partner and his half-brother aren’t close at all - so I think you could probably use [name_f]Liliana[/name_f] if you wanted to.
Otherwise I’d suggest looking for names that sound similar - e.g. [name_f]Liliosa[/name_f], [name_f]Lilia[/name_f]/[name_f]Lilya[/name_f], Lilita.
That’s exactly my thought. I honestly wouldn’t have used it if it was a name they had first but considering it’s a name I’ve had with me for so long.
I totally agree. My dad has a cousin with the same name as him. It was pretty popular back then.
I feel that because it’s a name that’s so close to my heart it’s more difficult to part from it.
