Baby name Esther if my name is Polly?

My name is [name_f]Polly[/name_f] and I am thinking of the name [name_f]Esther[/name_f] for my baby girl. I already have two girls and one has a biblical first and middle name. The other daughter is named after a great grandmother with a vintage but fairly unusual name and her middle name is biblical. I really like biblical names. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think if my own name is [name_f]Polly[/name_f] it would be weird to have a daughter named [name_f]Esther[/name_f]? I think [name_f]Esther[/name_f] would also go well with my other two girls’ names. I just am thinking polyester.

I don’t think it’s an issue at all.

[name_f]Adore[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f]! You are overthinking I believe…

I’m not sure what the problem is to be honest.
Is there a cultural reference I’m unaware of?

Because [name_f]Polly[/name_f]-[name_f]Esther[/name_f] as in polyester? I think you’re good, probably overthinking it

No, people are going to say [name_f]Polly[/name_f] and [name_f]Esther[/name_f]. Not usually [name_f]Polly[/name_f], esther, unless they are just listing people and that’s not going to happen a lot.

[name_f]Esther[/name_f] is great! I’d go for it!

Lol, polyester is actually my sister’s nickname for me! But really I think it’s fine. I think more people say “[name_f]Polly[/name_f] and her daughter” more than using the name.

Having a daughter [name_f]Esther[/name_f] when your name is [name_f]Polly[/name_f] is totally fine! It took me a bit to make the connection and I probably wouldn’t have if you hadn’t asked whether the names together were a problem. Also, I agree with PPs that your names won’t be said together much- when I think about how often I hear “my mum’s name + my name”, it’s not really very often at all.

[name_f]Esther[/name_f] is a lovely name

It’s a non-issue. I love [name_f]Esther[/name_f]!

I chuckled as soon as I saw the post. I just wouldn’t do it.
