Baby names similar to Griffin, Sullivan, and Augustine

My husband and I are trying to choose a name for our first baby…a boy! We like strong, manly names with a Southern, Western, or legendary feel, but we also really like [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] because of it’s Celtic roots (we have Scottish and Irish in our families), and we really enjoy the nicknames [name_m]Griff[/name_m] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u]. I can’t decide if this is a good oldest boy name or not.

We like [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] a lot too, but not sure how I feel about the nickname, [name_u]Sully[/name_u]. Makes me think of Monsters Inc. Then again, [name_u]Sully[/name_u] on Dr. [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] Medicine Woman was pretty manly. We enjoy [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] (Auggie or [name_u]August[/name_u] for short) but are noticing a lot of families naming their boys this now. Other names we’ve brainstormed: Archer (Archie), Cohen, Ford, Theodore (Theo), and we loved Cormac, but our last name ends in a “ck” so all “c” and “k” endings are pretty much out.

Thoughts? Would love name suggestions!

I really love [name_m]Griffin[/name_m]. It’s been on my list for such a long time. I would definitely recommend it!! [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] and [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] I’m not too grand about. [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] just feels better in the surname spot and I prefer [name_u]August[/name_u] to Ausgustine.

Other suggestions:

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u], and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is lovely too!

[name_m]Griffin[/name_m] is perfect. [name_m]Callahan[/name_m] , [name_m]Callum[/name_m] , [name_m]Cullen[/name_m] or [name_m]Griffith[/name_m] would also be good.

[name_m]Griffin[/name_m] is one of my favorites!

I like the names on your list and any one of them would be a good choice. Other suggestions…
