So I just gave birth to our 1st child, and I’ve already starting playing around with sibling names… the fever never drops, my friends! Anyway it’s a rainy day and I’m all cooped up indoors and thought maybe some of you lovelies may want to give feedback on some names…
Sisters:
Philippa Wren “Pippa”
Norah Kate
Josephine Blythe “Posey”
Iris
Pharaby (fair-ah-bee) -family name for us on both sides! Kinda neat given how unique it is.
Brothers:
Wilder Jude
August Dane “Gus”
Shepherd Ian “Shep”
Atticus Heath “Atz”
Bingham Reid “Bing”
Can’t wait to pour over your thoughts!
(I tried to delete this and repost in Baby Names since it includes more than girl names. Couldn’t figure out how to- sorry!)
I really like [name]Bingham[/name] [name]Reid[/name] and with [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Eve[/name] it is just lovely. [name]Goldie[/name] and [name]Bing[/name] is adorable. [name]Georgia[/name] is a GP of mine. For your girls names, individually they are all lovely, but I am not a fan of too many repeating sounds with siblings. [name]Phillipa[/name] / [name]Norah[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name] repeat the “ah”. [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name] repeat the first sound. That leaves [name]Iris[/name] which seems so plain next to [name]Georgia[/name]. Pharaby, because it has a connection on both sides seems like a good choice. I like your naming style!
Sisters:
[name]Philippa[/name] [name]Wren[/name] “[name]Pippa[/name]”- [name]FAVORITE[/name]. [name]Just[/name] perfect.
[name]Norah[/name] [name]Kate[/name] - Quite nice. Reminds me of the compound name [name]Laura[/name]-[name]Kate[/name], which I think is pretty cute. Would you call her [name]Norah[/name]-[name]Kate[/name]? Personally, I don’t see the point of the H at the end of [name]Nora[/name], but I understand its appeal.
[name]Josephine[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] “[name]Posey[/name]”- I like both of these names, and even like them together. [name]Lovely[/name] rhythm. My only negative thought about it is that they’re both a bit musty (in a wonderful way, but together it feels very …deliberate.) Also, I prefer [name]Josie[/name] to [name]Posey[/name].
[name]Iris[/name] - Beautiful.
Pharaby (fair-ah-bee) -family name for us on both sides! [name]Kinda[/name] neat given how unique it is. - Very cool. Pharaby [name]Iris[/name] or [name]Iris[/name] Pharaby?
Brothers:
[name]Wilder[/name] [name]Jude[/name]- I like both names but this feels backwards to me. Probably because of the [name]Gene[/name] [name]Wilder[/name] association. [name]Wilder[/name] in the first place looks like an adjective.
[name]August[/name] [name]Dane[/name] “[name]Gus[/name]” - [name]Don[/name]'t like [name]Dane[/name]. [name]Love[/name] [name]August[/name]. [name]August[/name] [name]Shepherd[/name]? Too literal? [name]August[/name] [name]Wilder[/name]?
[name]Shepherd[/name] [name]Ian[/name] “[name]Shep[/name]” - Prefer [name]Ian[/name] [name]Shepherd[/name]. Or [name]Shepherd[/name] [name]Heath[/name].
[name]Atticus[/name] [name]Heath[/name] “Atz” - [name]Atticus[/name] is too macho for me. [name]Atticus[/name] [name]Heath[/name] is doubly so imo. [name]Heath[/name] does have a great sound though.
[name]Bingham[/name] [name]Reid[/name] “[name]Bing[/name]” - Yes.
WOW! Thanks! Loved all this feedback. I have taken your advice and even revised my list a bit
I like the idea of [name]Shepherd[/name] [name]Heath[/name] and [name]Iris[/name] Pharaby or vise versa! Good points on those accounts. As for [name]Wilder[/name], I couldn’t switch it or use it for a middle bc for whatever reason, I just adore it. I’m not a fan of double-barreled names and you confirmed my issue with [name]Norah[/name] [name]Kate[/name]. I’d prefer just [name]Norah[/name]. Also, I agree with [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] as far as it being slightly predictable style-wise. But with our daughter, both her 1st and middle fell under the “vintage” category in Beyond [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Aidan[/name] so maybe that’s just our style!
Sisters:
[name]Philippa[/name] [name]Wren[/name] “[name]Pippa[/name]” - [name]Love[/name] [name]Wren[/name], [name]Philippa[/name] is not my style, but the combo sounds really nice
[name]Norah[/name] [name]Kate[/name] - Gorgeous name. I absolutely love this one.
[name]Josephine[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] “[name]Posey[/name]” - I like [name]Josephine[/name], not so much [name]Blythe[/name], but combo is ok
[name]Iris[/name] - This one is just ok to me
Pharaby (fair-ah-bee) - This one is lovely. [name]Kinda[/name] cute.
Brothers:
[name]Wilder[/name] [name]Jude[/name] - Nice Combo.
[name]August[/name] [name]Dane[/name] “[name]Gus[/name]” - [name]Love[/name] [name]August[/name], and [name]Dane[/name] pairs up great.
[name]Shepherd[/name] [name]Ian[/name] “[name]Shep[/name]” - Have never seen the appeal of [name]Shepherd[/name], not my style
[name]Atticus[/name] [name]Heath[/name] “Atz” - Like [name]Heath[/name], not so much [name]Atticus[/name]
[name]Bingham[/name] [name]Reid[/name] “[name]Bing[/name]” - Fabulous! Really like this one.
[name]Phillipa[/name] [name]Wren[/name] and [name]August[/name] [name]Dane[/name] are to die for, with the added benefit of [name]Goldie[/name], [name]Pippa[/name] and [name]Gus[/name] being the cutest nn sibset [name]Ive[/name] heard in a while! Too cute! I do really like Pharaby too though. What about Pharaby [name]Kate[/name]? Phara/[name]Fara[/name] is a great nn option too!
I just adore [name]Philippa[/name] [name]Wren[/name] as a sister to [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Eve[/name], and [name]Philippa[/name] is definitely NMS.
I wasn’t so sold on any of the boys with [name]Georgia[/name] but would choose [name]August[/name] [name]Dane[/name]. I don’t know if ‘[name]Goldie[/name] and [name]Gus[/name]’ is a bit too much.
I have not come across the name of Pharaby before. Loved the sound immediately. Feels like a quirkier/funkier version of [name]Phoebe[/name].
