We are loving the name Ellory (or [name_u]Ellery[/name_u]) for baby girl 2 (sister’s name is [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]), but I just feel like it might be too common/popular? [name_m]Even[/name_m] though it’s just out of the top 1,000, maybe us talking about it has made it feel more popular than it is.
I would not think being too common would be a problem with this one. I have never heard Ellory, only similar ones like [name_u]Emory[/name_u], [name_u]Everly[/name_u], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], etc. but never Ellory so I’d say you’re good in that regard.
[name_u]Ellery[/name_u] is similar to [name_u]Everly[/name_u] and she may be confused for [name_u]Everly[/name_u]. Im not fan of Ellory, although [name_u]Ellery[/name_u] is nice.
I like [name_u]Ellery[/name_u] better than Ellory. [name_u]Ellery[/name_u] reminds me of my own name ([name_u]Hillary[/name_u]) so maybe that’s why I like it, haha.
It’s definitely not common or popular at all! You’re safe in that regard. There are a lot of names beginning with “[name_f]El[/name_f]” lately, and names ending in “y” lately, but not [name_u]Ellery[/name_u] itself.
I don’t think [name_u]Ellery[/name_u] is common at all as I only know one, a teenager. I think its a beautiful name, and I personally prefer it to the similar (and more commonly used) [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. For a middle name, I think [name_u]Ellery[/name_u] needs something that’s short, sweet, and feminine. [name_m]How[/name_m] about…

[name_u]Ellery[/name_u] [name_f]Paige[/name_f]
[name_u]Ellery[/name_u] [name_f]Anya[/name_f]
I prefer the [name_u]Ellery[/name_u] spelling. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though it may not rank high on the SSA list, it sound popular and trendy because of the el and ly sounds. I know a little [name_u]Everly[/name_u]. Also, I don’t think it fits well with [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]. I have heard [name_u]Ellery[/name_u] used on a boy so technically it can be unisex while [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is very femme.
