[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone. We are expecting our second daughter in [name_u]Jan[/name_u] next year. We have a 3-year-old named [name_f]Annika[/name_f].
Our favorite names are [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]. [name_f]Annika[/name_f] wants to name the baby “Rosie”, so [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is now on our list too. The surname is “Yu”.
Would love your opinions on these three names, any other ideas are appreciated too.
Honestly, I love them all! Here is my preferred order:
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]
Some other suggestions based on your style:
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_u]Simone[/name_u]
I like [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] the most with Annika-it’s more under-the-radar than [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] seems a bit too old-fashioned next to [name_f]Annika[/name_f]
Ingrid is my personal favorite, followed by Elodie, then Rosalie. Ingrid feels just right for a winter baby—sharp and sleek, but woolen and warm, too. Elodie is just the right mix of frill and groundedness to match big sister’s pretty name. Rosalie is earthy and pink, erring a touch froufrou, uncommon but not unheard of.
I, myself, would choose Ingrid Rosie as the first name and middle name.
Gets sister’s adorable nickname in, plus a name you loved before. It’s a perfect harmony to me! And I love the flow. Ingrid Rose is beautiful too, but Rose is so common as a middle name; Rosie feels fresher and has the major bonus of being suggested as baby’s name by Annika!

I love [name_f]Annika[/name_f] your daughter is beautifully named.
You’ve got beautiful options I love [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] & [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] all three are very elegant with a timeless European feel.
I’m a massive fan of [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] she’s just gorgeous! [name_u]Bright[/name_u], romantic, sweet, has gorgeous floral connotations along with the adorable nickname [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Annika[/name_f] & [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] make a very springy sibling set you can definitely picture them playing within meadows of flowers on fresh sunny spring days.
Looking at [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] next I think she is very elegant, distinguished, classic, polished and strong. I think [name_f]Annika[/name_f] & [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] are such a delightful sibling set that feels strong with a fashionable Nordic feel. For me I think [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] & [name_f]Annika[/name_f] are a pair of fashionable girls hanging out at ski resorts with long blonde hair wearing oversized sunglasses drinking hot chocolate.
Finally [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is also lovely probably my least favourite but that’s only because [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] & [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] are so gorgeous! [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is sweet, has a melodic sound, feels very bright and summery paired with [name_f]Annika[/name_f]. For me [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] & [name_f]Annika[/name_f] would be found on the beach in a European coastal town playing in the sea, catching crabs and wearing polka dot swimsuits.
You’ve had some lovely suggestions so count any repeats as me being in agreement with the berries

Honestly, my favorite is [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]! [name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is a dreamy set! What a special connection it would be
[name_f]My[/name_f] second choice would be [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]. Such a fresh, sharp choice for a new year baby. I love it!!
I appreciate all the feedback, it has been incredibly useful! Our baby could arrive any time now, but the name decision is still pending.
Finding a name that is feminine and warm, yet has a bit of sass and spunk to complement [name_f]Annika[/name_f] seems to be challenging.
We have crossed out [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] (hubby doesn’t like the meaning of “Foreign riches”…) and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] (too Scandinavian for our [name_f]Asian[/name_f] heritage).
Some of the suggestions came to my consideration. Here is my updated list:
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] (Still my fav. But is it too frilly next to Annika?)
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] (We always liked this name. It’s not as unexpected as the other names)
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] (Love the meaning)
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] (Lyrical name that I think goes with [name_f]Annika[/name_f]. But is it a bit boring?)
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is my favourite by a mile. [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would be beautiful - then [name_f]Annika[/name_f] could have the special ‘sister name’ [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] for her. Something between the two of them.
I think all the names go with [name_f]Annika[/name_f] in their different ways - [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] feels strong, tailored and euro/Scandi with Annika; [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] works if you use [name_f]Annie[/name_f] (Annie & Rosie) but otherwise is a more complementary/oppositional pairing (still feel like sisters in a storybook); [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] brings out the honest, reliable qualities of [name_f]Annika[/name_f] - as a name, and of course their meanings are both lovely; and the [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] emphasises the artsy and cute aspects of [name_f]Annika[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] only concern with [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] is that sometimes I can’t quite say the first syllable as well as I’d like - I prefer [name_f]Noemie[/name_f], I think!
I’m thinking [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] or [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] but [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] if want a more mature, no nonsense feel.
