I used my favorite name of all time for my first daughter, [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Frances[/name_f] because it is old, strong, unisex, and we use the nickname [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] which I find spunky and fun. [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] was always a second favorite and happened to be my husbands grandmother’s name. I wish it were available to us now as an option and I love the thought of calling her [name_u]Tris[/name_u].
Now we are gridlocked and I’m feeling pressure to find a name we love as much as my daughters. We both love [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] but I am turned off by its popularity for a boy. We both love [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] but it doesn’t shorten to any nickname. Not a dealbreaker, just a drawback.
I like [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] a lot but not huge on [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].
I have fallen in love with [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] (I’m also a fan of nature names and would consider going a non-traditional route for my second daughter) but my husband has given it a strong veto.
I also like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. But not sure I’m in love with them.
Welcoming suggestions! Thank you!
One suggestion I have is the name [name_f]Annaliese[/name_f]/[name_f]Annalise[/name_f]… it kind of combines sounds from [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] with the ending of [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], avoiding the other [name_f]Ell[/name_f]- names you don’t seem so fond of. I love the idea of bringing in a nature reference; if you like the sharper-sounding [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], how about something like [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Tulip[/name_f], [name_f]Briar[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], or even [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]? I am in love with the idea of a little girl named [name_f]Annaliese[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]!
Sorry I couldn’t give a list, not quite sure I’m as good at that as some other people on this site!
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] would be very pretty!
Second [name_f]Annalise[/name_f]! I think it would be a great fit!
Others:
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Antonia[/name_f]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_f]Judith[/name_f] ([name_u]Jude[/name_u])
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] ([name_f]Lulu[/name_f])
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] ([name_f]Nellie[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f])
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] ([name_f]Edie[/name_f])
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] ([name_f]Evie[/name_f])
You could also call an [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] by the nn [name_f]Lulu[/name_f]…[name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] are a wonderful pair, I think!
I really like [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]. You could use a Lo- nickname like [name_f]Loli[/name_f] or [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. Also second the suggestion of [name_f]Edith[/name_f] which has a similar spare and classic feel to [name_f]Frances[/name_f] for me.
[name_f]Bryony[/name_f]

[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Maxine[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
My sister is [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and I’m [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], so I’m a bit biased, but I think [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] works quite well with [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. I use the nn Caz, but there are lots more: [name_f]Carrie[/name_f], [name_f]Carly[/name_f], [name_u]Caro[/name_u], [name_f]Cara[/name_f], [name_f]Ro[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Frances[/name_f] ([name_u]Frankie[/name_u]) with [name_f]Susan[/name_f]. It’s strong, underused, and I love [name_f]Suzi[/name_f] as a nn.
Or [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] or [name_f]Greta[/name_f])
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] nn [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] is lovely as well.
I’m not a fan of [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] at all. It has exploded in popularity and is too like [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f].
I really like the suggestions of [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Nell[/name_f]
Wonderful suggestions thank you! [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] could be a game changer!
I think my husband feels the same way about [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]! I was excited about calling her [name_f]Junie[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u] or [name_f]Juno[/name_f] though!
You have so many good suggestions already - putting thumbs up for [name_f]Annalise[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] (or [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]), [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] or [name_f]Margot[/name_f] as a [name_f]Frances[/name_f] sibling. Could also use [name_f]Verity[/name_f], [name_u]Romy[/name_u] ([name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]), [name_f]Constance[/name_f], [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] ([name_f]Suki[/name_f]), [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] or [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]. I’m an [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] with a daughter with MN [name_f]Frances[/name_f] so like your style!
I also think [name_f]Winnifred[/name_f], with the nickname of either [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] or [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] cute!
[name_f]Glad[/name_f] I could help, hope it goes over well!
What about the nickname [name_u]Lou[/name_u] for [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]? [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and [name_u]Lou[/name_u] would be so cute
