[name_f]Avie[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] - I still think [name_f]Avie[/name_f] should have a longer formal name, but this is my favorite by far. Might just be because I knew a very sweet little girl with the name [name_f]Avie[/name_f], but she pronounced it [name_m]Ah[/name_m]- vee.
[name_u]Ellison[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] - I chose this one because I like the possibility of the nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], and [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] goes well with [name_u]Reese[/name_u].
[name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] - while I do not like the idea of [name_u]Reese[/name_u] as a fn (seems too masculine to me) I like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] in the middle spot.
The last three are all tied for fourth place. I’m not crazy about Avaleigh (seems a bit made up imo) and [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Reese[/name_u] still sounds like ovaries.
Avaleigh [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] is my favorite by far. I think this name flows and sounds the best out of all of them. Avaleigh is pretty on it’s own, said with the middle name and last name, and with just the last name.
I am not a fan of double barrel or hyphenated names. I think they often get to be too much of a mouthful. [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Reese[/name_u] doesn’t sound bad and isn’t too terribly long, but I don’t think it looks very nice and I don’t like it with either [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Charlee[/name_f].
I want to like [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m], but there are far too many s’s in the name for it to sound good to me and I feel like you need a feminine middle name with a unisex name like [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] (which I automatically think sounds more masculine given it has the -son ending which technically denotes “son of”). I also want to like [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Ella[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m], but again, too many s’s in [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] and you likely won’t be using her full name most of the time. If you’re going to go with a double barrel name, I actually like [name_f]Ella[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f] much better than [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Reese[/name_u].
I’m sorry, but I do not like [name_f]Avie[/name_f] at all. It sounds like a nickname, but not really a good one. And [name_f]Avie[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] makes me think of the word Aviary, which is not a bad word, but not really a nice sounding name either.
I love [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]! [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] is unexpected and beautiful. I don’t think that [name_u]Reese[/name_u] and [name_m]Smith[/name_m] blend together either.
I definitely have to use [name_u]Reese[/name_u]. The husband is not budging on it! I wish it didn’t run into our last name so much or we would for sure make it her first name. But we are thinking these other names and calling her a combination of the two.
Has Reesa been suggested? I’m sure it probably has. I was just thinking using Reesa [name_m]Smith[/name_m] formally would avoid the run-on your worrying about and you can call her [name_u]Reese[/name_u].
I voted for [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]. [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Reese[/name_u] would be my second choice.
Thanks! It has been mentioned, but my husband just doesn’t care for it. He wants plain [name_u]Reese[/name_u]! It’s been difficult just getting to where we are now with the names!! Lol! But I agree, it would resolve the issue!
I like [name_f]Avie[/name_f] best. It reminds me of avian or aviatrix. It’s short and sweet and sharp. When I first saw it I thought “AV-ee” (like [name_u]Abby[/name_u], rhyming with savvy), but I seem to be in the minority there and most think “AY-vee,” as in the initials A.V., rhyming with [name_m]Davy[/name_m]. I like it either way, to be honest. I’d rather it be a nickname for something, but [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is used as a full name so why not [name_f]Avie[/name_f]? It’s also been used consistently since at least the 1880s.
[name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Reese[/name_u] still looks like avarice to me. Avaleigh looks made-up (no to [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] or [name_f]Aveline[/name_f]?). I’m not a fan of [name_u]Reese[/name_u]. [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] is alright; I read that it’s the Scots form of [name_f]Alison[/name_f] (here).
Thanks I really like [name_f]Avie[/name_f] too! I like [name_f]Aveline[/name_f] but my husband doesn’t…he prefers [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] because it incorporates an honor name from each side of the family. [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] is not my favorite and is actually new to our list, but it incorporates [name_f]Ella[/name_f] after his grandma so he likes it too. His favorite is actually [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] but I just don’t want it at all.
It’s just a hunch, but I think if you eliminated all the hyphens some of your underdog names would be getting more votes. Have you thought about pulling them, using one first name with two middles and then just calling your daughter [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] as her nickname? I feel like it will give you the best of both worlds, while streamlining things from a practical standpoint.
And on that note… [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] (nicknamed [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]) would be my pick.
I voted for [name_f]Avie[/name_f], as the best by far on your list. I still would prefer [name_f]Ava[/name_f], and called [name_f]Avie[/name_f] for nn if you like. [name_u]Reese[/name_u] doesn’t go at all with your surname so on its own or hyphenated with another name it has to be crossed off. Avaleigh feels a bit made-up and fake to me. [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] is too much a male name, though the sounds are ok. At least she could be [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] for short, so this is my second choice. ([name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Ellen[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]?)
Thanks but as stated before [name_u]Reese[/name_u] has to be in there whether it flows well or not. That is the only thing my husband is insistent upon and he will NOT budge from it. Agreed it runs with our last name, but there are worse things in a name I guess.
I voted for [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], but I’ve liked some of your other [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Reese[/name_u] combos more ([name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Clara[/name_f]). Something about [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] has never sat right with me, but [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Reese[/name_u] still is, by far, my favorite of your options, and I am not too keen on [name_f]Charlee[/name_f]/[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] on a girl, unfortunately. I do [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Ella[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f] as a combo, though, and that nearly got my vote instead.
(Unfortunately, though nice, all the others pale in comparison to me!)
I like [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Ella[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f]. [name_u]Reese[/name_u] is a little hard to say with the last name but I think the middles break it up nicely. You won’t have to say the first and last together that often. Second choice would be the [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Reese[/name_u] options, but I don’t love nicknamey names as middles. I’d prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Avie[/name_f] as a nickname, but would like [name_f]Ava[/name_f] better as the full name. [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] is OK but not as pretty to me as some of the other options. I do like [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], but prefer [name_f]Ella[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] as the full name.

Good luck![/QUOTE
You have stood by [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Reese[/name_u] from day one! And I love it! [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is not my favorite either, it’s the husbands top pick though so I tried to incorporate it to make him happy…but I would prefer [name_f]Elle[/name_f] over [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].
