Does anyone else have a name that is off the table for you not because you have a bad association with a person with that name, but someone else did? Someone that totally ruined the name for you by hating the person so much, and saying their name with distain?
Kind of? I used to really like the name [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m], but every time I brought it up to my parents they groaned about how much it reminded them of the Seinfeld character. I eventually dropped [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] from my list because of it.

Ok, I just want to mention I almost used Seinfeld as an example, when he says [name_m]Newman[/name_m] on the show. Haha. [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] is awesome.

Yes, it would take moving heaven and earth for me to be able to use [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]. Which breaks my heart because I love this name so much!
But there’s a tie to this name that my mom is horrified by… and I don’t think I’d be able to use it unless it was a special family name for my future husband or something equally powerful. Tbh it is a negative association, I mostly agree with her, but I see other benefits of the name (love the meaning, reminds me of the [name_f]Holy[/name_f] [name_f]Spirit[/name_f], and I also love that it’s [name_m]Sir[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Conan[/name_m] Doyle’s little known first middle name! What’s not to love about Sherlock?!) that make it feel usable for me… but I feel like she would feel betrayed if I used it… I just couldn’t do that to her. Any other name that she just doesn’t like… that I get, and she’s been vocal about me not limiting myself to picking a name that she approves of, but [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] somehow feels different, and I don’t think I could use it.
Currently have [name_m]Lorcan[/name_m] [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] on my list and love it so, so, so much, but if I were to have a little [name_m]Lorcan[/name_m], I would like 99% be changing [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] to something else.

I’m a true crime fan, so is my dad, so essentially I have so many names scratched off my list because a serial killer has that name and I don’t want to have the “but theres a killer named that” when I tell my dad my kids name

[name_f]Mia[/name_f] definitely, which is unfortunate bc its a pretty name but i have so many friends who have dated Mia’s who they now hate and I’ve also met some Mia’s who I’m not fond of, same with [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Dean[/name_m], [name_m]Dom[/name_m] and [name_f]Simone[/name_f]. I almost lost the love for the name [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_f]Ebonie[/name_f] by second hand association, but ive stuck to it and avoided mentioning those names bc I really love them. I also really liked the name [name_f]Skye[/name_f] but my mum hated it so much she turned me off it, which I know doesn’t really count here but it’s still a bad assosiation.

Yeah, there are a couple of names that I couldn’t use thanks to people my parents have known 
[name_f]Erika[/name_f] is one that comes to mind

Too many to count, but off the top of my head, I remember [name_f]Ruby[/name_f]. I know a couple, and they aren’t incredibly close to me or distant enough for me to use the name. Another I could think of is [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] due to the hurricane and obviously Weinstein. [name_m]Add[/name_m] to the list of all serial killers and notorious people, and you have all my names that I love but can’t use.
