"Bad" names from your area

So I wanted to find out what names people hear around their area. If you don’t want to be specific about where you live, that’s understandable, but please specify if you’re from the US or UK, or elsewhere.

Personally, I’m from [name]Utah[/name]. We have some WEIRD names around here. Here are some I’ve found:

[name]Gunner[/name]- boy
[name]Kinley[/name]- girl
[name]Crew[/name]- boy
[name]Aspyn[/name]- girl
[name]Trinity[/name]- girl
[name]Orion[/name] and Hawkeye (no joke)- brothers
Maili, Haili, and [name]Ashli[/name]- sisters
Lyndzi- girl

And then we have a plague of Sophias, Ellas, and Logans.

Please share yours!

I don’t really know of many “bad” names, but definitely really popular/overused names:

Tons of Aidens and Cadens, Elijahs, [name]Ella[/name]/Ellies with various full names, Maddys, and a recent epidemic of Liams (I think it’s the next [name]Aiden[/name] around here).

Oh, I’m from the upper Midwest!

It’s not a really bad name, but I’m sick of hearing “[name]NOAH[/name]!” My apartment window faces a daycare adjacent to the back courtyard and apparently [name]Noah[/name] is the one who gets yelled at the most. I don’t even know if I’ve ever heard another kid’s name there.

Im from a smaller town, so I find alot of VERY WEIRD names… and not weird in a quirky, unique kinda way… more of an over the top “excuse me, what did you say her name was?” kinda way…

[name]Dior[/name]
[name]Armani[/name]
Orionah
Leka
[name]Jerry[/name] (for a girl… not short for anything cute, or named after someone specail… just [name]Jerry[/name]- no middle name either)
Mennix (no middle name)

and then theres LOTS of those “up & coming names” as I call them… like [name]Liam[/name], [name]Aiden[/name]/[name]Caden[/name]/[name]Brayden[/name], etc… [name]Hudson[/name], AvaFinley/[name]Finn[/name]… names I like, but are going to be the name of every other child in a few years, once all these babies start school. like [name]Sara[/name], [name]Kaitlyn[/name]/[name]Katie[/name]/[name]Kate[/name], [name]Jessica[/name] was in the 80s…

Ohhhh, I live in Toronto, [name]Canada[/name].
We have a TON of “bad” names.

Kylon (Boy)
Jahai (boy)
Maisha

Those are the ones I remember at the moment…when the others come to me I’ll let you know. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, I just found a bunch more! Apparently, [name]Utah[/name] is the hot spot of “let’s misspell our child’s name to the point where it is barely recognizable as a name.”

Laikyn- girl
Chezney- girl
[name]Wynter[/name]- girl
Cashtyn- boy
Kaidence and Khloie- sisters
[name]Caden[/name] and [name]Ashlyn[/name]- brother and sister (not so bad, but still)
and finally:
[name]Parker[/name] on a girl.

I’m wondering if this is an area thing or if it is because teenage girls named [name]Ashlee[/name] (mother of Cashtyn, btw) and [name]Mackenzye[/name] are having kids.
P.S. I went to the playground the other day and I saw a bunch of teenagers and I was complaining to my [name]SIL[/name] about teenagers hanging around playgrounds and playing on the equipment when the kids should (and they were also running around swearing at each other)… and then I realized: they had kids there! I was so horrified. Anyone else come across this?

I don’t have a list of names but I was at the playground yesterday and this little boy who was probably 3 was named [name]Gunnar[/name], which alone isn’t horrible, i guess, but then his strange mother was talking to me about her son and she is like “i just love his names together…” talking about her son and get his, his name seriously was [name]GUNNAR[/name] [name]BLADE[/name]…just wait until the kid grows up to start a school shooting or something. horrible.

Okay, that’s just creepy. Who would put those names together on purpose?

Some I’ve seen recently (northeastern USA):

Apalonia
[name]Braylyn[/name] - some people probably like this, but I just don’t like the “[name]Bray[/name]” sound, reminds me of donkeys
[name]Destiny[/name]
and the absolute worst…
Pyzlee

And for boys…
Drayman
[name]Jadiel[/name] & Jasiel
Suryan

I hate to call any name a “bad” name but I guess that there is no better word to discribe it. My daughter is active in a rather large playgroup and these are the names that make me cringe.

Girls:
Jadzia (I was told the child was named after a [name]Star[/name] trek character)
[name]Alby[/name]
Irienus (I-re-nus)

Boys:
Tool
[name]Ash[/name] (just because the younger kids have a hard time with the sh sound and end up calling him Ass)

Other names I hear [name]WAY[/name] too often:
[name]Noah[/name]
[name]Elijah[/name]
[name]Jackson[/name] ([name]Jaxon[/name])
[name]Aiden[/name]

Forgot to add … I live in the US, [name]North[/name] [name]East[/name]

LMFAO @ [name]Noah[/name] hahhahahah

there is also a [name]Crew[/name] and [name]Aspen[/name] in my area (california) the worst names has to be a boy names [name]Java[/name]!

Wow, [name]Gunnar[/name] [name]Blade[/name] is quite disturbing. And Tool, seriously???

I heard an interesting one the other day-- not sure how it is spelled, maybe Todayja or Todeja? Like [name]Deja[/name] (as in deja vu), but with To at the beginning, so it sounds like Today + Ja.

And one from the opposite end of the socioeconomic spectrum: [name]Eaden[/name], pronounced [name]EDEN[/name], on a baby boy! [name]Eden[/name] (no matter how you spell it) is just about the most feminine thing I can think of, and to me is just wrong on a boy! Honestly I prefer Todeja!

It sounds like the parents were going to an alternate for [name]Aidan[/name]. Maybe pronounced AY-den

That’s what I thought at first too, and I keep hoping that they will switch to this pronunciation. But they say it just like [name]Eden[/name]! I even heard someone ask the mom, “Oh, like [name]Aidan[/name]?” And she corrected them saying that no, it was pronounced EE-den!

I live in the UK and there are some weird names but it seems as though [name]EVERY[/name] female is Called [name]Jessica[/name] and male Called [name]William[/name].

In my baby yoga class the other day one lady’s daughter was [name]Nahla[/name]… And I think a celebrity also has a daughter with the same name.

All I can think of is [name]Lion[/name] [name]King[/name]! That and my cousins golden retriever with the same name…

In USA, midwest

From [name]London[/name], UK.
[name]Every[/name] second baby girl in my “due in…” forum is going to be [name]Maisie[/name].
It started out as an ok name, but I see a red tide coming my way, it gives me the creeps. and I can’t get beyod the corn reference either.
