Barnaby...

What do you think of the name [name]Barnaby[/name]?

I rememer posting about this name a while ago on another site, with the combo’s [name]Barnaby[/name] [name]Oscar[/name] or [name]Barnaby[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] and would just like to see everyone’s opinion about it now that old fashioned names are the trend right now?

The name doesn’t particularly go with my other favourite boys names but it definitely fits with my girls names such as [name]Elspeth[/name], [name]Esther[/name], [name]Maeve[/name], [name]Harriet[/name], [name]Tabitha[/name] and [name]Jemima[/name] etc.

[name]Barnaby[/name] [name]William[/name] [name]Oscar[/name], [name]Barnaby[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] [name]James[/name], [name]Barnaby[/name] [name]Oscar[/name] [name]James[/name], [name]Barnaby[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] are some combo’s I’ve been thinking about - what do you think?

i like it…but I am not a fan of [name]Barney[/name] as a nn…that damn dinosaur has really ruined an other wise cute name…so [name]Barnaby[/name] is actually on my list and my husband and I decided that [name]Barns[/name] would be a cute nn…what do you think?

I like it. It’s cute and I like [name]Barns[/name] like the pp said. From your combos, I like [name]Barnaby[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] [name]James[/name], but what I would like the most is [name]Barnaby[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] [name]William[/name]

I like the idea of the name [name]Barnaby[/name] but not so much the reality. When I was growing up we used the term “barney” to mean loser (“don’t be such a barney!”) so that colors my reaction to the name.

I have a brother named [name]Barnabas[/name], and he wears it extremely well. When he was small my parents had to insist, “No [name]Barney[/name]!” to the friends and relations, and now [name]Barney[/name] is strictly a joke nickname; it never has stuck. It might be even more tempting with [name]Barnaby[/name] than with [name]Barnabas[/name], but if you’re prepared to insist on the full name or on a different nickname, hopefully it wouldn’t be a problem. I saw another [name]Barnaby[/name] post recently, and creative nicknames that were suggested included [name]Arnie[/name], [name]Bay[/name] and [name]Barnes[/name]. I like the name myself and would probably nickname it [name]Barnes[/name] or [name]Bay[/name] if I didn’t go with the full name.

Oh, I love that you’re considering [name]Barnaby[/name] again! I still adore [name]Barnaby[/name] [name]Oscar[/name] and from your new combos I like [name]Barnaby[/name] [name]William[/name] [name]Oscar[/name] the best, although I like [name]Barnaby[/name] [name]Oscar[/name] [name]William[/name] more.

This is pretty much how I feel. I think that [name]Barnaby[/name]'s a great name but would be very hard to pull off in real life. It’s more of a name that I’d love to see on a literary character than an actual child. Would make a solid middle name, though.

[name]Barnaby[/name] is on top my list, but as a middle name. I love the fact that it sounds whimsical and distinctive. [name]Barnaby[/name] is also a variation of [name]Barnabas[/name], an apostle in the Bible whom I really adore.

I would love to use it as a first name, but with my partner’s last name, the initial will be a problem.

From your list, I love all combos, but [name]Barnaby[/name] [name]Oscar[/name] [name]James[/name] has the best flow [name]IMO[/name].

I want to like it but I think it might be a little hard to wear, especially with [name]Oscar[/name] as a MN. [name]Barnaby[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] is nice as long as you are ok with the BJ initials. I think the NN [name]Barns[/name] is adorable though
