[name_m]Just[/name_m] heard someone use the name Sunsen for a little girl. Thoughts on the name? Very unique for sure. Reminds me of ‘sunset’.
I’m not a big fan. It sounds more like a boy name and reminds me of [name_m]Samson[/name_m]. I really like [name_f]Sunniva[/name_f].
Sunsen is interesting. I think the sound could grow on me, though i admit i prefer Sunset or [name_f]Sunshine[/name_f]
Sunsen… I like it but I prefer it on a boy
No I don’t care for it. Sunset would be better or like Somerset if you wanted to get poetic and fancy like.
My own surname looks and sounds similarly (it has an extra syllable) to Sunsen, so that is putting me off too, but generally, I can’t say I’m keen on it as a first though - it just sounds like ‘sun’ repeated to me. Generally, I find -sen/-son names for girls a little odd too, due to the (historically intended) ‘son of…’ meaning…
I’m not a fan, sorry. It reminds me of Bunsen burners, which is just a really weird association for a name to me.
I guess I can see some appeal to it but I’m not a fan. It reminds me of Bunsen burners, too.
I like it and I wonder what the origin is? Made me think “sunset” too which is positive.
I don’t like it. Rather go with Sunset, [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], [name_f]Sunshine[/name_f] , or even [name_f]Dawn[/name_f].
I want to like it but not sure I can. I feel like I’m saying [name_f]Sun[/name_f] twice.
To me it sounds a bit awkward. I guess it’s because of the repeated S and N sounds.
I couldn’t quite put my finger on why I found Sunsen so awkward but after reading others‘ posts, I realize it’s because of how similar this is to Bunsen. I also agree that I almost feel like I’m saying “sun” twice, which is odd. I want to like it but I’m afraid I think it’s kinda awkward.
I totally agree. I want to like it and it looks pretty, but it’s awkward to say. I just heard someone say it and thought to myself – ‘better ask nameberry’
I realize this is very old, but I had to chime in. Sunsen is my daughters name & I don’t necessarily think it’s hard to say… it’s just so different it usually warrants a “say again.” It’s a beautiful name written out & Sunnie/Sunny is timeless
