[name]Edith[/name] would probably be [name]Edie[/name], and I’ve been thinking about [name]Diana[/name] being [name]Annie[/name]. [name]Willa[/name] doesn’t need a nickname, and I’m not sure if I like nn [name]Bea[/name] or just [name]Beatrice[/name] better.
Which one is your favorite, and/or which ones would you remove?
This is my first child, so there’s no sibset to fall in line with, but if I ever have a boy, I think [name]Arthur[/name] is the front runner.
I like [name]Diana[/name] best. You don’t meet many kids with that name, and it has a timeless beauty about it-- heck, it’s a [name]Roman[/name] [name]Goddess[/name]! ‘[name]Beatrice[/name]’ is bound to get outrageously trendy very soon. ‘[name]Edith[/name]’ is a nice and underused name, but the only [name]Edith[/name] I know has to put up with all kids of cheesy ‘eat it’ puns, especially when the Weird [name]Al[/name] song was popular. And [name]Willa[/name]'s gorgeous, but she’ll spend her whole life having people think her name’s [name]Willow[/name] (and that she doesn’t enunciate well!)
I like [name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Maria[/name] the best! ([name]Beatrice[/name] is one of my favourite names, I think it’s so classy and beautiful!) My second choice would be [name]Edith[/name] [name]Maria[/name] [name]Caroline[/name], which is also very pretty and uncommon and I love the nickname [name]Edie[/name] :).
My favourite is [name]Diana[/name] [name]Felicity[/name] [name]May[/name] followed by [name]Willa[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]! Good [name]Luck[/name]
I really like [name]Willa[/name]. That is by far my favorite. I don’t think it sounds too similar to [name]Willow[/name]. Then [name]Edith[/name], [name]Beatrice[/name], and [name]Diana[/name].
I think [name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Maria[/name] is beautiful and I really like [name]Edith[/name] [name]Maria[/name] [name]Caroline[/name], mostly because I love the nickname ‘[name]Edie[/name]’. I’m not such a fan of the other two names. [name]Diana[/name] feels a bit dated to me and I’m not keen on [name]Willa[/name] - prefer [name]Willow[/name] as previous posters have suggested.
I love [name]Beatrice[/name], but i’ve a feeling that’s going to get very popular in the forth coming years.
I love [name]Diana[/name] the best, timeless, classic and elegant, not that keen on [name]Annie[/name] as a nn, [name]Diana[/name] can stand on it’s own.
perhaps [name]Mae[/name] as a mn rather than [name]May[/name] to ad a modern twist?
You have such great combos! While I’m biased towards the name [name]Edith[/name] nn “[name]Edie[/name]” as it is my name, I also love the name [name]Diana[/name]! I don’t think I’ve heard it on anyone young recently and would love for it to make a comeback! [name]Beatrice[/name] is one of my favorites, but as many other posters have pointed out it’s not as unusual on a baby as it used to be. Good luck!!
Thanks for all the feedback everyone. All the names are getting a fair amount of praise, but I suppose the bright side of that is there isn’t a wrong answer.
Agree w/ others that they really are all great names. I love [name]Beatrice[/name], [name]Edith[/name] and [name]Diana[/name] especially. I like [name]Willa[/name] because of the [name]Willa[/name] Cather/literary reference, but I agree that it will be confused for [name]Willow[/name], though I do like [name]Willow[/name] a lot as [name]Rollo[/name] said if that’s in contention.
I also agree that [name]Beatrice[/name] is going to be the next [name]Charlotte[/name] amongst yuppies, which bums me out because it’s such a great name. If you’d asked three weeks ago I might have said yes, but today I am thinking that she is going to skyrocket. A lot of people will point out (and rightfully so) that ranking is not as important as how many children you will actually know. [name]Beatrice[/name] is in the 800s this year, but she is going to go way, way up. Something to consider…
Given those, I vote for [name]Edith[/name] and [name]Diana[/name]. I absolutely adore the name [name]Diana[/name] and not to be biased but I like [name]Annie[/name] as a nn. As an [name]Annie[/name] I can tell you that I get non-namenerds telling me how much they love my name constantly. My boyfriend and his dad had a conversation about it when we first met, even! And [name]Edith[/name]/[name]Edie[/name] is just lovely. To me, [name]Edith[/name] has the classicness/traditional flair of [name]Eleanor[/name], but a little more fun and less popular.
