I’m absolutely positive that I’m going to bump a [name_f]Bea[/name_f]- name into my fourth spot in my Top 5, but I’m not sure which one to use. I’m hoping you guys could help me make the final decision. I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions.
[name_f]Beata[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Beata[/name_f] and it’s Polish(bonus for me), but worry that everyone will only see and pronounce it [name_f]Beat[/name_f]-a.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - This is my great grandmothers first name and I absolutely love it. I do worry that it might be too old fashioned with Adalind, [name_f]Katarina[/name_f] and [name_f]Lilith[/name_f]. If I use this I’m considering using [name_f]Beata[/name_f] as a nickname.
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] - I don’t love it, but think it fits the style of the three names below more than [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f].
Which name would you pair with Adalind, [name_f]Katarina[/name_f] and [name_f]Lilith[/name_f]?
I love [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]! I think it is both quirky and classic at the same time. It would be my choice from your list but if you don’t love it then you shouldn’t use it. [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is also nice and given you love it and the family connection I would say that would probably be your best bet. I have never heard of [name_f]Beata[/name_f] and I would pronounce it Beet-uh. What is the proper pronunciation?
I love [name_f]Beata[/name_f]. I’m a big fan of Polish names (due to my Polish heritage). But I’m afraid most people in English speaking countries would pronounce it [name_f]Beat[/name_f]-a, which is a shame, because it’s definitely my favourite of your list.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is my second favourite. I think it sounds great with Adalind and [name_f]Lilith[/name_f].
[name_f]Beata[/name_f]- I’m an English speaking American and I don’t think I’ve ever heard this pronounced and I wouldn’t say [name_f]Beat[/name_f]-a. The general public may, but the general public can’t even prounce my name ([name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]) which is super common, and apparently thinks [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] is a girl’s name. It’s not like [name_f]Beata[/name_f] is hard to prounce once you hear it said, or hard to spell.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - I think this goes find with your other names and isn’t too dated!
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] - my favorite on the list, however it’s growing a ton in popularity.
[i]On my own list , i have [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] " [name_f]Beata[/name_f] " cause i couldnt choose between these two . In general i love [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] more . I think its absulotly gorgeous and i love the connection with [name_m]Dante[/name_m] .
Though with Adalind, [name_f]Katarina[/name_f] and [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] I would choose [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] .[/i]
I love [name_f]Beata[/name_f], but, unless you are in the Polish-speaking area, chances are it will be mispronounced.
I prefer [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] to [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], but I would recommend against using a name you don’t love. Also, I think [name_f]Beata[/name_f] could work as a nickname for [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f].
Oh [name_f]Beata[/name_f], [name_f]Beata[/name_f], [name_f]Beata[/name_f], I love this name! I know the “beat” thing is off-putting, but the name pronounced correctly is sublime!
Thank you everyone for your thoughts and opinions. I think I’m going to go with Beatrice nicknamed Beata. I’ll be able to have the old fashioned family name with a nickname that will go well with my other names.
I use the be-AH-tah pronunciation, but I’ve seen the first syllable pronounced at ‘bay’ before also.
ETA:
I just realized Beatrice nicknamed Beata and Adalind are not possible for me because Ada and Beata are way too similar for sisters. I’m going to drop Beata, but might revisit it later on.
