Beck

Too out there? Sounds made up? Not enough name? Trying too hard? Awesome name? Cool name? Strong name?

[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t love the full name versions like [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] and [name_m]Beckham[/name_m] Etc, so it would stand alone. We also love [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] which is at the other end of the name spectrum, so [name_u]Beck[/name_u] feels pretty out there. Older sister is [name_f]Tahlia[/name_f], but we almost named her something more mainstream as well. Because [name_u]Beck[/name_u] is so rare, we have no frame of reference to know what “kind of name” [name_u]Beck[/name_u] seems like to people. Thoughts?

I like [name_u]Beck[/name_u]. It’s cool yet somewhat sophisticated, friendly and smart sounding and not too mainstream.
I do prefer [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] as a full name, especially with [name_f]Tahlia[/name_f], but I like either choice better than [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], which is rather bland to me as it is so very mainstream.
There was a character on a nickelodeon show a few years back, called [name_u]Beck[/name_u] (the character not the show), and I mainly associate the name with him, so if you want to get one “image” of a [name_u]Beck[/name_u], maybe look him up on youtube?!

I prefer [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] but I think [name_u]Beck[/name_u] is perfectly usable on its own. It goes with [name_f]Tahlia[/name_f] I think. It makes me think of someone athletic, intelligent, fashionable

The first thing I thought of when I saw [name_u]Beck[/name_u] was Heck.

I’ve been having the same struggle as you as I love [name_u]Beck[/name_u] but don’t like any of the longer forms. I don’t think its too out there and I think it sounds nice with [name_f]Tahlia[/name_f]. I think it works as a stand alone name but need a longer middle to balance it out.

I think [name_u]Beck[/name_u] is nice. I know several people with the last name [name_u]Beck[/name_u], so it sounds like the surname-as-firstname trend to me. One of the guys I know is called by his last name a lot (and he is SUPER handsome), so I have good associations with the name. I think it’s great!

I like it. The first thing I think about is the singer. It’s a nice, simple name, unusual but not weird. It’s short but not boring. I really like it.

When I saw [name_u]Beck[/name_u], I thought you meant as in, short for [name_f]Becky[/name_f] ([name_f]Rebecca[/name_f])

I think [name_u]Beck[/name_u] goes well with [name_f]Tahlia[/name_f], but I like it better as a nn and think it feels slightly incomplete on it’s own. It’s not terrible and it’s definitely usable, but I personally would use it as a nn.

People will assume that you are a fan of the musician, [name_u]Beck[/name_u], but he is incredibly talented, so I see that as a good thing! It definitely feels like a full name to me.
