Belinda

Thoughts? I would only consider it as a middle name, as it honors a loved one. She’s not exactly in love with her name, though, so I’m also interested in other names that could be used as an honorific for [name_f]Belinda[/name_f].

I too, prefer to honor family members in a child’s middle name. Hmmm… I have known one or two [name_f]Belinda[/name_f]'s, I don’t dislike it, it just is kind of there to me. The only thing that I could think of is [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] that kind of goes along with [name_f]Belinda[/name_f]. However, with the right first name [name_f]Belinda[/name_f] could be stunning.

It is not my cup of tea but it is absolutely fine as a middle name in honor of someone else.
Maybe [name_f]Belle[/name_f].
The other names I think of are [name_f]Bella[/name_f] and by extension [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] which are very popular but also viable options.

There is also the [name_f]Linda[/name_f] route which would lend itself to names like [name_f]Lina[/name_f] or [name_f]Lena[/name_f].

I’m absurdly fond of [name_f]Belle[/name_f] and [name_f]Bella[/name_f]. I knew a [name_f]Bella[/name_f] who’d be about 100 if she were still living and she was just an absolute darling. And it wasn’t short for anything… I’m not as fond of [name_f]Isabella[/name_f].

[name_f]Belle[/name_f] makes a good middle I think.

I like Belphoebe and Belisent/Bellicent but I don’t know how you feel about that as honouring a [name_f]Belinda[/name_f]. Similarly I like [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f].

[name_f]Belle[/name_f] and [name_f]Bella[/name_f] have already been suggested. What about [name_u]Linden[/name_u] or [name_f]Linnea[/name_f]?

[name_f]Brigid[/name_f] [name_f]Elina[/name_f]

I adore [name_f]Belinda[/name_f]. Possible Alternatives: [name_f]Bea[/name_f], [name_f]Melinda[/name_f], [name_f]Bella[/name_f], [name_f]Linda[/name_f]…also any name with the same meaning, which I think [name_f]Belinda[/name_f] means Beautiful.

Was also going to suggest [name_f]Belle[/name_f]. A thought about [name_f]Belinda[/name_f]; [name_m]Both[/name_m] my children have names honouring family members. [name_f]Love[/name_f] my sons names, dislike my daughters names, but because they’re family names, they feel special. [name_f]Glad[/name_f] I kept them as they were & didn’t change them.

I wouldn’t use [name_f]Linda[/name_f] or [name_f]Melinda[/name_f], that’s my aunt’s name and we aren’t close. I would use [name_f]Belinda[/name_f] as is, but like I said, she has never liked her name, so I’m concerned that wouldn’t actually make her happy. I like [name_f]Belle[/name_f], but I’m just not totally sold. I guess it seems too princess-y? And I really like [name_f]Bea[/name_f] also, but it seems too short. I made a tread about [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], but I wonder if it’s just getting too far from the actual name. [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] might be my best bet, as her middle name is [name_f]Ann[/name_f]…but it just falls a little flat to me, I’m not sure why. I suppose it might grow on me. Thanks, everyone, for your replies!

I think [name_f]Belinda[/name_f] is great. [name_f]Linda[/name_f] is pretty great too if you want something different. Maybe [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] if that’s not too much of a stretch. If I had a daughter named [name_f]Belinda[/name_f] I would most likely call her by [name_u]Billie[/name_u] which I think is sweet.

I love [name_f]Belinda[/name_f] (I know I’m weird ")). It has a happy and energetic vibe that I find appealing. [name_f]Melinda[/name_f] and [name_f]Linda[/name_f] don’t do anything for me because I’ve known too many [name_f]Melissa[/name_f]'s and [name_f]Linda[/name_f]/[name_f]Lynda[/name_f]'s. There is also [name_f]Bellatrix[/name_f], Belphoebe, [name_f]Belen[/name_f] (Spanish for Bethlehem), Belarmina, [name_f]Belicia[/name_f], Belisa, Belisaria and my favourite [name_f]Belinda[/name_f] nickname, [name_f]Binnie[/name_f], which I think is adorable. I would use [name_f]Belinda[/name_f] as a full middle name if you can’t find anything else you like as an alternative. Your loved one may not like her name but I bet she’d be touched that you honoured her anyway.

I actually quite like [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] for [name_f]Belinda[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f]
