Bella for our baby girl?

Hey everyone, I am fairly new to nameberry, and i’m so glad to have found this wonderful site where I can discuss names with fellow namenerds!
Anyways, My wife and I were discussing baby names for our daughter, and we both decided that we love the name [name_f]Bella[/name_f]. Not only do we adore the meaning and the way it sounds, it is also the name of my wife’s best friend, who is named [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] but goes by [name_f]Bella[/name_f]. She who will likely be the godmother of any future children. I know some people think it is not wise to name after friends, but our friend groups have lovely names, so our children will likely share (not necessarily named after) names with their future aunties and uncles
Our questions are:

  1. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like the name?
  2. Any ideas to distinguish between the two Bellas if we do end up naming her that? Our best friend lives only a couple of minutes away so we will likely see her a lot after DD is born.
  3. We like [name_f]Bella[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Kate[/name_f], and we would probably call her “[name_f]Bella[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]” sometimes. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like this combo? Any other middle name ideas?

We appreciate any inupt! Thank you so much!!

I really like [name_f]Bella[/name_f], and I like [name_f]Bella[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. [name_f]Bella[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] feels a little abrupt to me, [name_f]Kate[/name_f] has harsh sounds (from the k a t) whereas [name_f]Bella[/name_f] is alot softer sounding, so I’m not totally sure they go well together… That’s why I went with [name_f]Bella[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], because it sounds softer and imo nicer to say.

To differentiate between the two [name_f]Bella[/name_f]'s…
A family friend of mine has two (male) [name_u]Dale[/name_u]'s, and they go by [name_u]Dale[/name_u] and Big [name_u]Dale[/name_u] (one is an adult, one is a preteen) and that seems to really work for them…perhaps for you it could be [name_f]Bella[/name_f] and [name_m]Little[/name_m] [name_f]Bella[/name_f]?
