Benedetta?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m], all! I was wondering what you think of [name_f]Benedetta[/name_f] nn [name_f]Benni[/name_f] for a book? Thank you!! She’d be somewhere between 15-17 and the spunky best friend.

Although it’s not really my style, it seems absolutely appropriate and unexpected for a book character! [name_f]Benni[/name_f] is a cute nickname for it.

It’s definitely an interesting name, very eye catching, so it would work well with a spunky character.

Thank you!! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Etta[/name_f] or [name_f]Ettie[/name_f] would be better, though? Would people think [name_f]Benni[/name_f] weird for a girl, because I feel like it’s kind of in the same vane as [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] as a nn to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]?

I think [name_f]Benedetta[/name_f] would be fun on a female character! I personally prefer the nicknames [name_f]Etta[/name_f] or [name_f]Ettie[/name_f] but they give me a much different feel than [name_f]Benni[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Benni[/name_f] would be good for someone who is more of a tomboy. [name_f]Etta[/name_f], to me, strikes me as a quiet bookworm. [name_f]Ettie[/name_f] is pretty similar but, for some reason, I see [name_f]Ettie[/name_f] as more of a theatre nerd as well.

Etta & [name_f]Ettie[/name_f] are nice but I prefer [name_f]Benni[/name_f]! It feels spunky, quirky, and cool. Very memorable for a character!
