This name was on our list for a while so I’m curious what do you think about this name?
It’s one of my favourites, personally. Classic, recognisable and under-used.

I agree with you. It’s so underused when it sounds sophisticated and has a lovely meaning.
I love it. Benedict has been on our boys list as a middle. I could never get behind it as a first based on Ben, but for others I’m sure that’s a huge draw. The meaning is lovely.
I worried and posted several years ago about the possibility of a huge popularity surge via the rise of Cumberbatch in the US but that never materialized.
I love Benoît, as well. And Bénédicte is a longtime favorite for the girls. Benedick like the Shakespeare is lovely, too, if the last syllable weren’t so apt to the character and rife for issues currently.

I love it! The name seems classic but not overused and has a great meaning. If the child dislikes how uncommon it is, they can always go by [name_m]Ben[/name_m], which is a good nn.

I like it but for me it has a strong association with egg’s [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]

My mind automatically goes to [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] Cumberpatch for some reason.
I think it has good nickname potential. [name_m]Ben[/name_m] is a popular name, so it gives a nice alternative for [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] or even [name_u]Bennett[/name_u].

Second that! Sadly it’s my DH’s favorite breakfast food so he orders it often and all I can think of when I see it is breakfast! Or dear [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] cumberbatch (which isn’t a bad association at all).

I LOVE it! It sounds so cute and sweet to me! Nicknames [name_m]Ben[/name_m] and [name_m]Ned[/name_m] are adorable too! So strong and great namesakes
