I love the name [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], but our last name is [name_m]Barnett[/name_m]. Cute, or too many repeating syllables?
any feedback is welcome!

Personally, I like [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] but not with [name_m]Barnett[/name_m]. The two not only share a “B” initial but also the "nett ending. Another issue: they’re both two syllables so the combo sounds two similar and abrupt.
I don’t think it would work well, sorry. It’s one of the combinations I would look at and say “Why? With all the names out there, why?” Like [name_m]Al[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m], or [name_m]Bob[/name_m] [name_m]Roberts[/name_m]. Granted, it’s definitely not as bad as those.
But ultimately if you really love it, go for it.
It’s way too matchy for me. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the name [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], just not with [name_m]Barnett[/name_m].
I agree with all the other posters. But the bonus is his name would be one you won’t forget easily! Like the American Idol winner [name_m]Phillip[/name_m] [name_m]Phillips[/name_m]. I don’t find it horrible if you also were to call him [name_m]Ben[/name_m]/[name_m]Benny[/name_m]/[name_m]Benji[/name_m].
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Barnett[/name_m] sounds like a joke name, sorry.
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Barnett[/name_m] is way too singsongy and sounds like a cartoon character, sorry. The names are the same except for two letters- way too close. What about [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]? [name_m]Even[/name_m] [name_m]Ben[/name_m] is a bit repetitive since it starts with a B and contains a strong N sound like [name_m]Barnett[/name_m], but much better than [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Barnett[/name_m].
Either are nice names but together they are terrible.
Too matchey, sorry! If there’s only 2 letters difference between a first and a last name, they are probably too similar.
Maybe [name_m]Benson[/name_m], [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] or [name_u]Everett[/name_u]? They are all a little too similar to [name_m]Barnett[/name_m] as well, but not nearly as close as [name_m]Bennett[/name_m].
Personally, I think it’s too much.
I don’t think it works, they are too close. I think [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] would be fine though and still give you ‘[name_m]Ben[/name_m]’.
I’m going to have to echo others and say that I’d steer clear of [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] with your last name - it’s too matchy for my taste.
We’re in similar boats–I had to give up a favorite ([name_f]Estelle[/name_f]) when I married a man with the last name [name_m]Estes[/name_m]. I hope you’re able to find other names you love equally as well (or more!) than [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]!
