Berry and Winnie

I posted sometime last year I believe about using the name [name_f]Beryl[/name_f] or [name_f]Berenice[/name_f] to honor my grandmother [name_f]Bernice[/name_f] who unfortunately doesn’t have a most interesting middle name, she doesn’t have one at all. Is either of them useable? [name_m]How[/name_m] do you personally pronounce them? I think I would use the nn [name_u]Berry[/name_u].

I’m also crushing on [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] but I’m not sure if it’s formal enough for a child to grow into. What are some formal names that [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] would be the nn for besides [name_u]Winslow[/name_u], [name_f]Winsome[/name_f] and Wilhemina (all names I can’t use)? Are there any Hebrew middles that would pair nicely with a formal name for [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] or just [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] itself?

Thank you!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] to honor Grandma [name_f]Bernice[/name_f]? I think that [name_f]Berenice[/name_f] is kind of confusing. I guess I’d pronounce it [name_m]Bear[/name_m]-uh-nee-ce? I’d just go for [name_f]Bernice[/name_f] nn [name_u]Berry[/name_u] if not [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f].

And I love [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]! [name_u]Berry[/name_u] & [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] would be super cute. [name_m]How[/name_m] about…

[name_f]Anwen[/name_f]

[name_f]Arwen[/name_f]

[name_f]Branwen[/name_f]

[name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f]

[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f]-I’d do [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f] in this case

[name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f]

[name_f]Morwenna[/name_f]

Meriwen

[name_f]Rowena[/name_f]

[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]-I don’t personally like this for a girl, but it works.

[name_u]Wynn[/name_u]-again, nn [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

Any spelling of [name_f]Bernice[/name_f], [name_f]Berenice[/name_f] or [name_f]Berniece[/name_f] is beautiful and unusual. what about [name_f]Winona[/name_f] as a full name for your [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]? [name_f]Berniece[/name_f] [name_f]Winona[/name_f] would be a lovely name.

Hmm, I don’t really like [name_f]Beryl[/name_f] or [name_f]Berenice[/name_f], I think because I’m not really that into super vintage names. [name_u]Berry[/name_u] is a cute nickname though!

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is so sweet and fantastic as a nickname! [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Winter[/name_u], or [name_f]Winona[/name_f]?

I think [name_f]Beryl[/name_f] sounds unpleasant and I don’t much like [name_f]Berenice[/name_f] either.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Winter[/name_u]? I think you can get [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] from that.
[name_u]Windsor[/name_u] or [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] also come to mind.

If you aren’t in love with the name but still want to honor your grandmother you can consider a name that ties to the month she was born in.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]?

I think [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] could stand alone

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Aliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Keturah[/name_f]
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Zahara[/name_f]
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Ahava[/name_f]
