I’ve recently been crushing on [name]Bertram[/name]. My SO’s nn is [name]Bertie[/name], so I like the connection. But I think before I met my [name]Bertie[/name], I probably would have thought this was an old curmudgeon’s name!
So what are your thoughts? Is it an old curmudgeon’s name, or is it usable?
I actually really like the name [name]Bertram[/name], but I do like old names, so I’m not sure how valid my opinion is. [name]Bertram[/name] could be a [name]Bertie[/name] for short, or he could also get the more modern-sounding nn [name]Bram[/name], so I think it can work nicely.
I love it, especially with nickname [name]Bram[/name] and the meaning (bright raven) is totally awesome [name]IMO[/name], since crows/ravens are my second favorite animal behind owls. But I doubt a little boy would appreciate it much, so I debate about whether or not to put it on my “long” list (I only like approx. 10 boys names lol) or keep it as a GP. But I’d be thrilled to meet one
[name]Bertram[/name] is one of my all time favorite names. I’d use it whole, as is. In a world of Declans, Liams, and Winstons, I think it would blend right in.
[name]Bertram[/name] is so handsome and romantic. I’ve loved it since I first heard it in [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables years ago- I think [name]Anne[/name] used it for a character in a story.
I don’t mind [name]Bertram[/name], though it’s not my style. I would dislike it if he were called [name]Bert[/name], though (maybe that doesn’t bother you). [name]Bram[/name], however, is kind of awesome and I never would’ve considered that as a nn. You’d have to consider the [name]Bram[/name] Stoker reference, though…
