Best Girls Name?

I’ve already decided on the boys name I liked if I ever had a baby. Not pregnant, just collecting names for if I do ever. I narrowed it down to [name]Rosaline[/name] and [name]Lilianna[/name]. I’d call her [name]Rose[/name] or [name]Lily[/name]. If I ever have a baby, I only want one, no more than one. I like [name]Rosaline[/name] because it means “tender horse” and that’s my favorite animal, a horse. I have a huge passion for them. Another name I like is [name]Lilianna[/name] because [name]Lily[/name] is my favorite name, but I also like the name [name]Lillian[/name]. I hate the name [name]Anna[/name]/[name]Annie[/name]/[name]Anne[/name], and I don’t want her to choose to go by [name]Anna[/name] or other “[name]Ann[/name]” names when she’s older. I like [name]Lillian[/name], but too many I’s and L’s for my taste. I’d always call her [name]Lily[/name], so it wouldn’t matter. I really like [name]Rosaline[/name], but when my family read it off paper, they thought “[name]Roz[/name] uh leen” or “[name]Roz[/name] uh lin” and I had to explain it’s like the name [name]Caroline[/name], pronounced as “[name]Roz[/name] uh line”

My favorites are
[name]Rosaline[/name]
[name]Lilianna[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name]

Pros:
[name]Rosaline[/name] - special meaning to me.
[name]Lilianna[/name] - she’d be called [name]Lily[/name] and I love the name [name]Lily[/name], but not as a full name itself.
[name]Lillian[/name] - same as above.

Cons:
[name]Rosaline[/name] - pronounced wrong by lots of people.
[name]Lilianna[/name] - I’d hate to have her go by [name]Anna[/name] or [name]Anne[/name] when she’s older, or worse, [name]Annie[/name].
[name]Lillian[/name] - too many of the same letters and people might spell it without an L like [name]Lilian[/name]. Or Lillan.

Please help! Please help me decide which name is best. I already have a middle name picked out and everything.

You could just call her [name]Rose[/name] or [name]Lily[/name], if those are the names you prefer. Lots of names are pronounced incorrectly, so you might want to go with [name]Rosaline[/name] over [name]Lilianna[/name], if you don’t like the idea of her going by [name]Anna[/name]. You can’t really control that. You can control how her name is pronounced, as long as you’re OK with constantly correcting them. They’ll get used to it eventually.

There are also other [name]Rose[/name] names, like [name]Rosalind[/name] or just [name]Rosy[/name]. You could look into those.

I think [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Rose[/name] are stunning names, they don’t need a longer version. If you feel they’re too short, give them a longer middle name. Or you could do [name]Lily[/name]-[name]Rose[/name], super cute.

Of your names, I like [name]Rosaline[/name] the best.

Other [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Lily[/name] names:
[name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Rosamund[/name], [name]Rosemond[/name], [name]Rosalba[/name], [name]Rosario[/name], Rosslyn, Rosefinch, [name]Lilibeth[/name], [name]Lilias[/name], [name]Lilith[/name], Lillai, [name]Lilja[/name].

[name]Rosalie[/name] sounds a bit like [name]Lily[/name] at the end.

I think [name]Rosaline[/name] is beautiful! I got the pronunciation right away, but that’s probably from watching “[name]Romeo[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name]” a million times in the 90s. (Oh, [name]Leo[/name] DiCaprio) [name]How[/name] I miss that decade.

[name]Lillian[/name] and [name]Lilliana[/name] are nice. I just prefer [name]Rosaline[/name].

[name]Love[/name] this.

Thank you everyone! I’m stuck on the name [name]Rosaline[/name] though, but I’m real big on names. My name is very different, it’s [name]Kiba[/name]. It’s Hebrew, and I think the name [name]Kiba[/name] is wonderful, but people spell it weird. Like Keba, Keeba, Keyba, etc. Only two different people spell my name right. Usually it’s Keba, the way people spell it. When people read it off paper, they say it like kih buh instead of key buh. I don’t want my little girl to have a name like that. I also didn’t enjoy having no nicknames, so I want my daughter to have a fuller name, not just [name]Rose[/name] or [name]Lily[/name] plain. I am planning to just have a daughter, I’m going to adopt a baby. I don’t want her name spelled wrong, ever, or pronounced wrong, and I want her to have many nicknames. [name]Rosaline[/name] has [name]Rose[/name], [name]Rosie[/name], [name]Rosa[/name], [name]Allie[/name], [name]Lina[/name], [name]Lin[/name]/[name]Lyn[/name], and [name]Lilianna[/name] just has [name]Lily[/name], [name]Anna[/name], [name]Anne[/name], and [name]Annie[/name], and [name]Lillian[/name] just has [name]Lily[/name], but it’s easier to spell wrong like with a missing L.

My first choice and recommendation is your favorite name, [name]Rosaline[/name]. Since you plan to nickname her [name]Rose[/name], she will not have to deal with daily mispronunciations. For that reason, I think using [name]Rosaline[/name] is very, very do-able. [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Rosa[/name] are wonderful nicknames.

My second choice would be [name]Lilianna[/name]. I think it is MUCH more likely that the nn [name]Lily[/name] will be used rather than [name]Anna[/name], and even more so when people know your preference is [name]Lily[/name]. I do think that both [name]Lilianna[/name] and [name]Lily[/name] run the risk of being misspelled (two Ls or one N).

My last choice is [name]Lillian[/name]. I am just not a big fan. (I know of a newborn with this name.)
