I’m not sure how to add a poll, so it’s the ones in my signature below. Suggestions are welcome.
For those who aren’t familiar, [name_f]Xochitl[/name_f] ([name_m]Zo[/name_m]-Cheel) is a popular Nahuatl name (popularly called Aztec) in Mexico meaning [name_f]Flower[/name_f].
I thought that [name_f]Xochitl[/name_f] was pronounced so-chat-ul, as the Nameberry page says. I like zo-cheel better.
I like your [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] [name_f]Xochitl[/name_f].
I love most of your choices! So beautiful…but my favorites would have to be [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] [name_f]Xochitl[/name_f], [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] [name_f]Querida[/name_f] and [name_m]Ulisses[/name_m] Fernan.
It can be quite confusing, but this time nameberry has it wrong. Nahuatl is very different from Spanish the “t” in “tl” is silent and as in most cases where words begin with X, [name_f]Xochitl[/name_f] has a sound that is a blend of Z with S. Thank you! That is very helpful. I really love [name_f]Xochitl[/name_f] now that I know this proper pronounciation.
[name_f]Adelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] are beautiful by themselves and with the mn!
