I picked [name]Lucy[/name] because I think it’s a really sweet name and is the most natural nickname,by which i mean other people will automatically call her it.I knew a [name]Lucinda[/name] who went by [name]Lucy[/name],both names seemed to really suit her.
[name]Tara[/name] I know already that the nn of [name]Indie[/name] has your heart and it is a cute and individual nn that I am sure she will like a lot, however,I am a big [name]Lucy[/name] fan and I would name my daughter [name]Lucinda[/name] with the nn of [name]Lucy[/name] because she is fun, cheeky, bright and breezy and has great appeal for me.
All the best,
rollo
Prefer [name]Lux[/name] out of those choices
I call my friend [name]Cindy[/name], [name]Lucinda[/name] so I like [name]Cindy[/name] or [name]Cinda[/name]
I have a friend [name]Lucinda[/name] who everyone else calls [name]Lucy[/name]. I don’t like [name]Lucy[/name] so I call her [name]Lucinda[/name]
I also like [name]Lulu[/name] or [name]Lula[/name]
[name]Ah[/name], rollo. You know me too well. I do love [name]Indie[/name] best. I find it a spunky, cool and modern nickname for super feminine and serious [name]Lucinda[/name]. The hubby says he’ll call her [name]Lucy[/name] because “it’s sweet and cute”. I suppose [name]Lucy[/name] “fits” better with the other kids names but I’m just not ready to give up on spunky [name]Indie[/name]
I like [name]Indie[/name]… There are tons of girls who call themselves [name]Lucy[/name] out there, and [name]Indie[/name] is really cool. [name]Lux[/name] is NMS, personally.
I was about to vote [name]Lucy[/name] but then I saw [name]Indie[/name]. Usually I go for the more common nickname due to some personal experiences with my name but I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Indie[/name]. So spunky and unexpected.
Thanks namelover77 and katiedid12! You guys nailed exactly why I prefer [name]Indie[/name].
Thank you for replying
[name]Tara[/name] I think it will be fun for your [name]Lucinda[/name] to answer to [name]Indie[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name]. [name]Don[/name]'t worry if DH is going down a different path to you with the nn my Mum was [name]Margot[/name] to her Mum and [name]Jane[/name] to her Dad because he liked the name [name]Jane[/name].
rollo
Thanks, rollo. That may be what happens after all. It’s nice to hear that it is possible to use two nicknames without giving the kid an identity crises.
I am also a [name]Lucy[/name] fan. I also know you like [name]Indie[/name]- and as [name]Rollo[/name] suggests there is no reason why a child would have only one nn. My [name]Brooke[/name] gets nn [name]Brookie[/name] [name]Belle[/name] and [name]Hobie[/name] but neither nn make it to school as a nn- just as a pet name. I say you call her [name]Indie[/name] as your special pet name and as her ‘official’ nn go [name]Lucy[/name]. I also love [name]Lulu[/name] probably more than [name]Lucy[/name].
Thanks, emiliaj!
I do like [name]Lucy[/name], I just don’t [name]LOVE[/name] it. [name]LuLu[/name] is really cute too, I’m sure she’d be called that on occasion as well. I think we’ll just give her a name we love and let the nicknames be what they will. Thanks for your reply
