Our final two names that were bringing to the hospital are [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. I’m just trying to figure out what nicknames we could use. We’re using [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] as the middle name. I’m not opposed to a nickname from his middle name. I really don’t see any other nickname for [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] other than [name_m]Ron[/name_m], and [name_u]Ronnie[/name_u]/[name_u]Ronny[/name_u]. I’m not sure which spelling is better. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] has so many nicknames that I really can’t decided. Somewhere my Hubby read [name_m]Thor[/name_m] when we were deciding on final names and I really have to talk him out of that one.
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] you could do [name_u]Theo[/name_u]. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is a greek name… [name_m]Thor[/name_m] is a norse name. They have totally different meanings and backgrounds. I think it’s kind of stretching.
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m] is good on it’s own, it’s a five letter long name. It’s two syllables long. Not every name needs a nickname.
Not sure about a nn for [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] but for [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] I love [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]. [name_u]Theo[/name_u] is nice but [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is just squishable and so cute.
I agree with the pp. [name_f]Ro[/name_f]/Row/[name_f]Roe[/name_f] is a cute nn for [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] and I like [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] as a nn for [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Ted[/name_m] when he’s older.
[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] both these names. I like [name_f]Ro[/name_f]/Rone for [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] and [name_u]Theo[/name_u] for [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].
[name_f]Ro[/name_f] and [name_u]Theo[/name_u] are great, but as I say a lot, I don’t think there’s any need to predetermine a nickname before baby is born. A nickname may emerge on its own, or it may not–you can let the little guy’s personality decide!
