Best spelling of Adalyn/Adelyn?

I am really confused which is the nicest spelling, I love the sound a lot and I am leaning toward [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f]. I know an [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] who is [name_m]AD[/name_m]-uh-line and with the popularity of Age of [name_f]Adaline[/name_f] I feel like everyone will pronounce it as -line. The -leen ending would be the second pronunciation(where I live we are phonetic most of the time.) Are there any spellings of [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f] that really work and eliminate the “made up” feeling? It isn’t actually a made up name, it was charting 100 years ago and has since been revived, thanks!

Purely based on looks, I personally prefer [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], then [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f]. I tend to shy away from Y’s in names partially because Y’s are trendy in girl names at the moment (as X’s, O’s and Z’s are in boys) and because Y’s are used in excess or as a replacement for I’s unnecessarily.

Regardless, I think these are the two most established spellings of the name, so using any other spelling might give you the opposite effect of what you’re going for.

It’s a pretty name!

I prefer [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] which I would pronounce ad-uh-lyn.

Whereas I would wonder if [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f] was pronounced [name_f]Ada[/name_f]-lyn or ad-uh-lyn.

My first preference is [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], since the only two I know pronounce it -lynn not -line. Second would be [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f], it looks the most “legitimate” to me because of the name Aderyn.

I don’t think you should eliminate [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] though, if [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] can work as -lyn, I don’t see why [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] can’t. [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f] make me cringe and I can’t think of any other spellings without butchering it completely.

I like [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f]

[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is fine.

If you will prn it [name_m]Add[/name_m] uh [name_u]Lynn[/name_u], I would use [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f].
