Best spelling of tahlula

**I believe [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] is the correct spelling but I prefer Tahlula because I don’t really love how “tall” sticks out in the beginning. When pronounced… tahhh ** pick your favorite spelling but comment the “correct” spelling of the name.
Thank you

I have a very good friend named [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], and she’s actually very short :joy:. I’ve been best friends with her all my life and I’ve never even noticed that the word “tall” is in there!! I think it’s perfectly fine. The [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] spelling just looks right to me. The only other spelling I’ve come across is [name_f]Tallula[/name_f].

I’ve seen it spelt [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] and [name_f]Talullah[/name_f]. [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] is Irish while [name_f]Talullah[/name_f] is Native American, so those are the correct spellings. [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] is my favorite :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m entirely in agreement, but I think you got them the wrong way round! [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] is the Native American (Choctaw) variant, whilst [name_f]Talullah[/name_f] (/Talulla etc.) are Irish Gaelic and anglicisations of [name_f]Tuilelaith[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Tuilelaith[/name_f] best, but [name_f]Talullah[/name_f] second.

I do believe [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] or [name_f]Tallula[/name_f] is the correct spelling, and [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] is the one I prefer, personally.

Tallulah is the only spelling that feels correct to me. I misread Tahlula as “Tahula” at first.

Tallulah, [name_f]Talullah[/name_f], [name_f]Tallula[/name_f] looks correct to me. Others don’t.

I like the [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] spelling. I hadn’t even noticed the ‘tall’ part until you mentioned it!

Tallulah looks best to me

Team [name_f]Talula[/name_f].

Of these, [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]. [name_f]Tallula[/name_f] is my favorite spelling, though. Sorry to say, but Tahlula just reminds me of Kahlua (which is fine, I guess, but I don’t drink and wouldn’t necessarily want my kid’s name to always remind me of alcohol, but anyways), so I don’t find it that appealing personally. I don’t know anyone who says [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] like TALL-oo-lah, so I wouldn’t be concerned with it. If it’s that troublesome, I’d swap it for the other recognized spelling, [name_f]Talulla[/name_f](h). I’m Team [name_f]Tallula[/name_f](h) though!

Good luck!

Yes after someone said they thought it looked like tahula I think the h doesn’t look right.
I’ll definitely drop the first L and decide if I want an h at the end or not
So [name_f]Talula[/name_f]
[name_u]Or[/name_u] Talulah

I’m Choctaw and Irish. So it works either way lol

Also my fiancé’s name is Ta (like tj… [name_u]Timothy[/name_u] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m])
So I like the name sake for a girl. Having Ta in the beginning

Although my preference is Talulah, I feel that all of these are acceptable as spellings of the name.
