I’ve never been a big fan of [name]Bethany[/name], but it’s growing on me. We plan on using the nn [name]Betty[/name] and would like to give her the option of a more formal name. I have our options narrowed down to [name]Beatrice[/name] or [name]Bethany[/name]. [name]Elizabeth[/name] is a no-go, as it’s our niece’s name (but she goes by [name]Lizzy[/name]), and all other longer names for [name]Betty[/name] I’ve crossed off the list for one reason or another.
What do you think? Sibs are [name]Logan[/name], [name]Ruby[/name], and [name]Mick[/name] ([name]Michael[/name]).
I prefer [name]Bethany[/name]. I think it’s a lovely name and fits better with siblings [name]Logan[/name], [name]Ruby[/name], and [name]Michael[/name] better than [name]Beatrice[/name].
I love [name]Bethany[/name], it was on my list before because of the nickname [name]Beth[/name]. I adore it. [name]Beatrice[/name] is beautiful as well.
[name]Bethany[/name] and [name]Beatrice[/name] are both wonderful names, but I think [name]Bethany[/name] would fit in best with your children. [name]Bethany[/name] is a timeless name that never got as trendy as similar sounding sister [name]Brittany[/name], and has such wonderful nicknames, from [name]Betty[/name] to [name]Bess[/name] to going by the full name.
I love [name]Bethany[/name]. I’ve never really liked [name]Beatrice[/name] but either would be a fine name for your bubba. Personally I think [name]Bethany[/name] flows better with your current children’s names.

[name]Both[/name] full names are pretty, but [name]Bethany[/name] sounds more akin to [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Michael[/name], and [name]Logan[/name].
[name]Bethany[/name] nn [name]Betty[/name] is really cute! On the one hand, it seems a bit dated (all the Bethanys I know are at least in college, if not older), but it still feels fresh, and it has a sweet feel to it (and a bit religious, which I love). I have a [name]Bethany[/name] in a story of mine that’s quite dear to my heart, so I have a soft spot for [name]Bethany[/name], myself. I agree with [name]Emma[/name] that [name]Bethany[/name] seems to fit in better with [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Michael[/name], and [name]Logan[/name] than [name]Beatrice[/name] does, but both are lovely.
I love [name]Bethany[/name], but I love love love the nickname [name]Beth[/name]. [name]Betty[/name] isn’t my cup of tea. It seems a shame to have a name with [name]Beth[/name] in it and to not use [name]Beth[/name] as a nickname. Since you prefer [name]Betty[/name] over [name]Beth[/name] (why? oh why? lol) [name]Beatrice[/name] would be your best bet. [name]Beatrice[/name] is a great name!
[name]Betty[/name] is the name of both mine and DH’s grandmothers, so we’re quite partial to it.
I’m glad [name]Bethany[/name] is well received. I also go the “dated” feel from it, even though I’ve never personally known a [name]Bethany[/name]. I also agree that it sounds more suited to my other children’s names. I’m starting to really like it, but it will be so hard to part with [name]Beatrice[/name]!
