We have already decided on Lily for the first name so this is likely not changing. I am between middle names… the last name is one syllable, starting with a G.
Lily Clementine
Lily Charlotte
Lily Noemie
Lily Amelie
Lily Valerie
My husband is French so we want to honor his heritage by choosing a French middle name. So many other cute French names he associates with someone in his family or a friend. But I am still open to suggestions! Thank you. I like Lily Clementine the most (how it sounds, the meaning of the name, I have always loved the name Clementine) however I am pausing because I am not sure if it’s too “cutesy” and also in English, they are two words names… Is that strange?
Lily Charlotte sounds best to me, I also love Clementine
I played around with some French names:
Lily Astrid
Lily Celeste
Lily Daphne
Lily Pauline
Lily Albane
Lily Garance
Lily Suzanne
Lily Rose
Lily Roxane
Lily Jade
Lily Adele
I think you’ve chosen a beautiful first name so I wouldn’t change that one. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] really is a floral classic that oozes charm.
Looking at your shortlist I love [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] the most she’s absolutely stunning. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is beautiful. She’s whimsical, preppy, bright and is a truly lovely middle name for [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. I actually do not find the name too wordy at all or too cutesy at all. I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is perfection.
Regarding your other options [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is a lovely regal option but feels not as sparkly as your other options. [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] doesn’t have the best flow with [name_f]Lily[/name_f] the overall sound is a little off. Similarly even though I love [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] I think the lee of [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] feels off with [name_f]Lily[/name_f] too many repeated sounds. [name_f]Noemie[/name_f] is pretty and works well [name_f]Lily[/name_f] but I do prefer [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] spelling wise.
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is perfect go with your favourite!
First of all, so happy whenever I see anyone planning to use my name because I love my own name lol I think your daughter will like being named [name_f]Lily[/name_f]! Also I think it’s fine to have a cutesy first+middle combo, but with current naming conventions, I don’t even think it’s pushing it. It’s just the right amount of cute to me! [name_f]My[/name_f] mom nicknamed me [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] [name_u]Larkspur[/name_u] and sometimes says she wishes she’d made that my full name lol
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is very sweet and spunky. Maybe [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Colette[/name_f]?
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Anais[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] Fosette
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] doesn’t feel too cutesy for me – sharp and sweet. Although, maybe that’s because I use the -tine pronunciation? [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Noemie[/name_f] is charming though – sharp and cool
A few other ideas: [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]Esme[/name_u], [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Edmee[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvaine[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]Camille[/name_u], [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f]
I agree that [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is enchanting! I like the pairing of the familiar & gorgeous [name_f]Lily[/name_f] with the more unexpected & unique [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], which is such a sweet name. (And for what it’s worth, I myself don’t tend to hear [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] as a “word name”, so I don’t think that’s a major issue.)
From the rest of your list, I might lean toward [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Noemie[/name_f] (such a pretty name!), and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] probably has the most melodic flow. But they’re all lovely! The only one that feels slightly less “special” to me is [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], simply because both names are so popular.
Also, I really like a previous commenter’s suggestion of [name_f]Lily[/name_f] Celeste… exquisite!
I think [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] or [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] would flow best to a one syllable G last name. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] flows best with three syllables, and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is delightful! Otherwise maybe [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f], [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f], [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], or [name_f]Marianne[/name_f]. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] are so pretty to me.
[name_f]Noemi[/name_f] is three syllables too but is a teeny bit of a tongue twister, and like [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] I don’t love the repeat “ie” sound.
I think [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is the way to go! The Cl part of the name is so appealing to say after [name_f]Lily[/name_f].
