Beyond the typical nicknames: Marguerite

Please help me out! My husband loves [name]Marguerite[/name] for another girl ([name]Margaret[/name] is a family name but he prefers [name]Marguerite[/name]) but I don’t love any of the usual nicknames. I like [name]Daisy[/name] but it’s just ok, [name]May[/name] is my favorite but we have a [name]Bay[/name] already, [name]Maisie[/name] is cute but I’m not in love with it, etc. I really love [name]Clover[/name] even though it’s unrelated but my husband hates it. [name]Do[/name] you have any suggestions for cute nicknames for [name]Marguerite[/name]? It doesn’t matter if they start with M or are a bit of a stretch. I’m just trying to like it as much as he does. Thanks!

ETA: Thank you all for the great suggestions! I’m going through them all and will try them out on my husband

I love the name Marguerite. My favourite nn’s are [name]Margot[/name] or [name]Greta[/name]. You may also use Pearl because that’s the meaning of the name. Other options: Maggie, Rita or Mamie.

I love [name]Greta[/name], but you can also get [name]Rita[/name], [name]Margie[/name], [name]Gerry[/name]/[name]Gerrie[/name], or [name]Margot[/name].

I thought of [name]Mara[/name], [name]Marrie[/name], [name]Mary[/name], and even [name]Emmie[/name] (since it starts with M.) Good luck convincing the DH!

My favorite nn for [name]Marguerite[/name] is [name]Mari[/name] (like MAH-ree). I also like [name]Maggie[/name]. [name]Ari[/name] is sweet, too, but not as predictable as the others.

Good luck!

i love rita as a nickname. i also think margie is cute. both of those nn are ones i don’t think you’ll hear much of, but i think they’re adorable. you can always find a nickname from other sources- like mix her first and middle names for a nickname. for example: a girl called [name]Leah[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] could be nn [name]Lee[/name]-[name]Bea[/name] or look into the name meaning or pick a nickname that connects to her personality.

I love [name]Marguerite[/name], it is one of my more recent favorites. I would use it with the NN [name]Marjie[/name], I think it is so spunky and cute

What about [name]Margot[/name]/[name]Margaux[/name]? My grandmother’s name is [name]Marguerite[/name], she’s [name]German[/name] and I’m not a fan of their pronunciation but maybe it would be prettier in English.

What about [name]Greet[/name]?

I have also seen [name]Gretchen[/name] as a NN for [name]Margaret[/name], don’t see why it cannot work for [name]Marguerite[/name] too

I like [name]Greta[/name], [name]Gretchen[/name], [name]Margaux[/name], [name]Pearl[/name] & [name]Greer[/name] -which all come to mine as nn’s for [name]Marguerite[/name]. I figure whatever nn’s works for [name]Margaret[/name] should be similar.

[name]Meg[/name] and [name]Maggie[/name] are my favorite little nn for the [name]Margaret[/name] names. Maybe typical but here they are just in case you haven’t thought of them.
