Biblical name thoughts?

What are your thoughts on this Biblical boy name?

[name_m]Erastus[/name_m] (er-as-tus)

It is an old name that is on my DH’s side his 2nd great grandfather was named [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_m]Erastus[/name_m]. We both really like it it’s a really name but not common at all. I like obscure Biblical names. We are practicing christians so it would not be weird for us to have a Biblical name on our son.

I pronounce it slightly different: ih-ras-tus.

I think it’s an awesome name! Such a wonderful meaning, too.

I love it! I say go for it  You may get some odd looks, but who cares. Those who know the name will adore it

I am thinking for the middle name spot. Not sure if I am bold enough to put it in the FN spot. But I like it I think I will hold onto it if we have more than one boy. =]

And yes I love that it means [name_f]Beloved[/name_f].

To me it sounds like “he-asked-us”, that’s what I would hear if I wasn’t reading it, I think it’d cause a boy a lifetime of difficulty to be honest!
