I’m need help with some unusual Biblical Name ideas.
I don’t mind using a Biblical name but don’t really want to be limited to that, however my husband really wants a Biblical name.
We’ve agreed on a girl’s name, [name_f]Jemima[/name_f], but are stuck on a boys name.
His favorite is [name_m]Matthias[/name_m]- which I don’t like because its too close to [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] and theres already 2 of those in the family. I also don’t want the nickname [name_m]Matt[/name_m].
I really like [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] (not in Bible) with its many nick names: [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_u]Gus[/name_u], Auggie. I think nickname potential is really important to me although I do like [name_m]Felix[/name_m] (not an option) which doesn’t have any nicknames.
I really like [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] but that got vetoed for being Shy and Low
We both like [name_m]Jonas[/name_m], but don’t like nickname potentials [name_m]Joe[/name_m] and [name_u]Joey[/name_u].
I like [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], but don’t think my husband is sold.
I like [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] a lot which apparently is a Greek version of Aramaic [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] so that would work.
We’ve considered [name_m]Alpheus[/name_m] ([name_u]Alfie[/name_u] and [name_m]Alf[/name_m]), [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m], [name_m]Abner[/name_m], [name_u]Asa[/name_u], [name_m]Abel[/name_m] and [name_m]Clement[/name_m].
We like [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], [name_u]Elias[/name_u], [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] but feel they’re growing very popular.
Does anyone have any ideas we haven’t thought of?
