-- biblical place names ⛲

i’ve been so into biblical place names recently - they’re fun and unique yet not too out there for me, plus i love how they tie into my faith!! i would love to hear from the berries in hopes of finding some new favorites…

what are your favorite biblical place names?

what are some more “out there” biblical place names you’ve heard/seen?

what would you name a son & a daughter using only biblical place names?

as always, i can’t wait to see everyone’s answers!!

If I were naming a son and daughter using only Biblical place names, I would probably choose Judah and Abilene.

Other names I would consider (seriously or just as interesting names) are Jordan, Belén, Jericho, Sheba, Eden, Magdala, Galileo, Gilead, Shiloh, Nazareth, and Samaria.

Zion and Israel are some that have really strong connotations today that would prevent me from using them.

[name_f]Bethesda[/name_f], Gethsemane, and Golgotha are some of my more “out there” favourites.
A few others I like:

[name_m]Canaan[/name_m]

Realistically I would use [name_m]Nilo[/name_m] or [name_f]India[/name_f]. [name_f]Sharon[/name_f], [name_f]Magdala[/name_f], Ninive(h), maybe, but more unlikely.
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] is nice.

To be honest I don’t really know many Biblical names. I am not [name_u]Christian[/name_u] and I have never read the bible myself, nor did I ever received such a education in church, so I am not familiar with it, sorry. [name_m]Can[/name_m] someone give me a list of biblical places so I may choose?

There are some rich names in this category. I don’t think I have come up with any not already mentioned, but my favorites are [name_u]Salem[/name_u] and [name_m]Canaan[/name_m].

[name_u]Salem[/name_u] has such a lovely meaning, safe, and it appeals to me on many levels.

I actually know a family with a now college aged daughter name [name_m]Canaan[/name_m] and have always loved it.

Other likes - [name_f]Bethel[/name_f], [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_u]Jerusalem[/name_u], Gethsemane, [name_u]Judah[/name_u], [name_m]Judea[/name_m] (which I really love for a girl), or [name_u]Cypress[/name_u].

I’ve always loved this story too for a sweet little Salem
