🗝️ Biff, Chip and Kipper…

For those who don’t know, there is a well-loved series of books in the U.K. to help kids learn to read called The [name_u]Magic[/name_u] Key, and the three main characters are named [name_m]Biff[/name_m] (girl), [name_m]Chip[/name_m] (boy) and [name_m]Kipper[/name_m] (boy). These are obviously nicknames but we never learn their full names in the books!

I’m wondering if you had to decide on the full names for these nicknames, what would you choose?

Such a lovely part of childhood, and I find it so sweet that they are still using them in schools now! I was always told their real names were [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_u]David[/name_u] and [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], but I’m not sure why or where the source for that is!

I like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] as a full name for [name_m]Biff[/name_m], but I think [name_u]David[/name_u] nn [name_m]Chip[/name_m] is a stretch even by Nameberry standards! I would say [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and then maybe [name_u]Chandler[/name_u] and [name_m]Crispin[/name_m].

Oh this has really made me smile…such happy memories and I definitely had a giggle at [name_u]David[/name_u] nn Chip…a little far fetched and also my husband is called [name_u]David[/name_u] and don’t think he’d be too impressed with [name_m]Chip[/name_m]!
