Bilingual ocean/water related boy names?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all!

I am pretty desperate to find any boys name that I don’t dislike. I’m ideally looking for something that can be said in [name_f]English[/name_f] or [name_u]French[/name_u] and means something ocean or water related.
Most of the ones you can find on online lists I don’t like or my husband has vetoed.
I prefer longer names that can have a cute nickname.

Maybe nothing like this exists but I just can’t imagine having to settle on a name to use the rest of his life that I don’t love.

Any suggestions are appreciated

Caspian/Caspien (Cap, [name_m]Kip[/name_m], [name_u]Cass[/name_u], Cian)
[name_m]Marinus[/name_m] (Mars, [name_f]Rin[/name_f], [name_m]Manny[/name_m], [name_u]Min[/name_u], Maz)
Sebastien/Sebastian (Seb, [name_m]Baz[/name_m], Bash, Bastien) (I mean, it vaguely links to the ocean, in terms of the play Twelfth [name_u]Night[/name_u] and The [name_m]Little[/name_m] Mermaid film)
Hadrian/Hadrien/Adrien/Adrian (Hayes, [name_u]Rian[/name_u], [name_f]Addy[/name_f], Ade)(inspired by the Adriatic sea, and can mean from [name_u]Adria[/name_u], or one from the sea)

Nérée
[name_u]Murphy[/name_u]
[name_m]Delmar[/name_m]
[name_f]Morvan[/name_f]
Mordiern
Morgad
[name_u]Lamar[/name_u]

Boys names are hard!

[name_u]Remy[/name_u] (“oarsman”) was my first thought.

[name_m]Delmore[/name_m] “of the sea”
[name_u]Ennis[/name_u] “from the island”
[name_u]Rayan[/name_u] “land that is lush and rich in water”
[name_u]Calder[/name_u] “wild waters” (nickname [name_u]Cal[/name_u] would be cute!)
[name_m]Rainier[/name_m]

[name_f]Oceane[/name_f] or [name_u]Ocean[/name_u]!

I’m not very good with word meanings (also have no idea if these are good in [name_u]French[/name_u] or not) but some literal word names that are water related are:
[name_u]Ocean[/name_u]
[name_m]Tide[/name_m]
[name_u]Coast[/name_u]
[name_u]Harbor[/name_u]
[name_u]River[/name_u]
[name_u]Cove[/name_u]
Sound
[name_m]Rush[/name_m]
[name_u]Bay[/name_u]
[name_u]Sailor[/name_u]
Shipper
[name_u]Lake[/name_u]
[name_u]Navy[/name_u]
[name_f]Cruise[/name_f]
[name_f]Delta[/name_f]
Trident
[name_u]Rain[/name_u]
Waves / Wavey / [name_u]Waverly[/name_u]

I’ll suggest [name_m]Dacre[/name_m], [name_m]Deveraux[/name_m] and [name_u]Beck[/name_u]. You could also go with river names such as [name_u]Cooper[/name_u] and [name_u]Hudson[/name_u]. Good luck in your search :kissing_heart:

[name_u]Marin[/name_u]
[name_m]Marius[/name_m]
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] (child of the sea)
Adrien/Adrian (from the Adriatic Sea)
[name_m]Nemo[/name_m] (captain Nemo)
[name_m]Titouan[/name_m] (Lamazou, sea explorer)
[name_m]Delphin[/name_m] (dolphin)
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] (sea)
[name_u]Kai[/name_u] (Hawaiian, sea)
[name_m]Jacques[/name_m] (Cousteau, sea explorer)
[name_m]Ferdinand[/name_m] (Magellan, sea explorer)
[name_u]Noah[/name_u] (the ark and all that)

Thank you so much for all the suggestions
I kind of like [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] but we are still undecided and would love any more suggestions anyone has :sparkling_heart:

You could use a “well” name and shorten it to [name_m]Wells[/name_m], as in, where water comes from.

[name_u]Maxwell[/name_u]
[name_u]Lowell[/name_u]
[name_m]Wellington[/name_m]
[name_m]Bramwell[/name_m]

[name_f]Do[/name_f] a search in the forums for [name_m]Wells[/name_m]. Lots of ideas come up.

I also think Rivière is quite nice.

There’s a Nameberry user list of water related names. Maybe one of them would work:
