Curious what people think about [name_u]Billie[/name_u] for a little girls name.
I love it!
It’s definitely cute but would that be weird for her in early years of development?
It’s fine in a child but I wonder how well it would work on an adult woman in the corporate world, if that came into play. I think it would be nice for her to have a more formal name and you could still call her [name_u]Billie[/name_u] as a nickname.
I like it as a nn, I’d personally want a more professional sounding name as an adult.
I love it! I wanted to use it for our recently born daughter, but my husband wasn’t as into it. (My grandfather was [name_u]Billy[/name_u], and I would have liked to have honored him that way). We had been thinking about [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] nn [name_u]Billie[/name_u]
I think [name_u]Billie[/name_u] is really cute!
I know a [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] who goes by [name_u]Billie[/name_u], but [name_u]Billie[/name_u] for [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] makes sense, and [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] is a great name. I personally couldn’t have a [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] without [name_f]Sibbie[/name_f], which I think is a bit harder for bullies to come up with things like “billy goat” or “pecos bill” or “duck [name_m]Bill[/name_m],” especially if she ends up with large features.
I know a [name_u]Billie[/name_u] who’s 17 and Australian TV has had a lot of adult [name_u]Billie[/name_u]'s on it (including last years Masterchef winner, she now works for Heston Bleumenthal). So I think it works well and since it’s a top 100 name in Australia there will be a lot of adult [name_u]Billie[/name_u]'s soon it’s far more popular then [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] and [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] so most people would assume it’s her full name
[name_u]Billie[/name_u] is very cute, but I would give her a full name to use when she’s older, if she so chooses.
I think [name_u]Billie[/name_u] is gorgeous for a little girl, I would have it but we’ve recently had a bew addition, baby boy join the family called [name_u]Billy[/name_u]. I’m now thinking of [name_m]Darwin[/name_m] for a girl instead.
I love it!!
I even like when it is hyphenated - ex. [name_u]Billie[/name_u]-[name_f]Rose[/name_f]. But that’s my tastes.
No. Sorry, but I don’t see the appeal of a dated, male nn on a little girl. I love [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] and [name_f]Sybil[/name_f], but I don’t love the nn [name_u]Billie[/name_u] for them. Personal tastes aside, though, I am not trying to discourage you from using a name you love:)
I love [name_u]Billie[/name_u]. I know a [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] and she is the best little pumpkin in the world.
Thanks for the feedback. I do like it but my wife loves it. Trying to wrap my head around it.
I actually love it!
