Bluebird as a middle name...too weird?

[name_f]My[/name_f] Granny has called me “my little bluebird” ever since I was little because of my blue eyes. I’m not married and not having children soon but if it happens to be likely that my child will also have blue eyes I think this would be a cute middle name. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it’s a name a child would be embarrassed of? Also what first names would you put with it? (I like vintage names). [name_f]My[/name_f] alternative to bluebird as a middle would be the first name “Birdie” which has been in my top 3 favorite girl names for a while!

That is so adorable. I think the middle spot is the perfect place to be a little daring! Bluebird seems like a perfectly good and cute middle to me.

I’m team “almost anything can be a middle name” so I do think Bluebird could work as a mn. Plus, I really like its sounding and the meaning behind it is lovely. I’d go with something like:

  • [name_f]Margot[/name_f] Bluebird
  • [name_f]Jane[/name_f] Bluebird
  • [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] Bluebird
  • [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] Bluebird
  • [name_f]Sally[/name_f] Bluebird
  • [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] Bluebird
  • [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] Bluebird
  • [name_f]Millie[/name_f] Bluebird
  • [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] Bluebird
  • [name_f]Tilda[/name_f] Bluebird
  • [name_f]Nora[/name_f] Bluebird
  • [name_f]Thea[/name_f] Bluebird
  • [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] Bluebird
  • [name_f]Marina[/name_f] Bluebird

I’m also a big fan of [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], although I prefer it as a nickname or a middle name (I have it on my combos [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] Birdie). I love it as a nickname for [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f].

Between [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] and Bluebird, I prefer Bluebird as a middle because it lets you using [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] as nickname or a pet name for the baby.

I think Bluebird is lovely and has such a sweet story behind it! You could always give her a more traditional middle as well so she can choose when or whether she reveals it!

I agree that [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] could make a sweet pet name for any first, especially with the middle name Bluebird. But I adore [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] as a first as well.

I think Bluebird is a gorgeous middle name!

Bluebird would be such a sweet and meaningful middle!!

[name_f]Ada[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Lilia[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f]
[name_f]Sienna[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Etta[/name_f] Bluebird

I would definitely go for it, a very cute middle name!
Besides this unique meaning to you and that you also can by using that honor your granny, Bluebird sounds cute and is a symbol for happiness which your future daughter will make you feel:heart::bird:
In case you still feel it’s a bit too special to use, Sialia is the scientific name of the bluebirds, so maybe [name_f]Sia[/name_f] or [name_f]Lia[/name_f] as a cute little middle name!
Fun fact, in Finland Sinikka (bluebird in Finnish) is not at all unusual or odd but pretty common name🙂

[name_f]Margot[/name_f] is one of my top three!! And I also have considered using [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] as a nickname (although I prefer [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] over Beatrice)

It’s not any weirder than [name_f]Bluebelle[/name_f] / [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f] which is quite popular and regularly makes the realms on nameberry. If Bluebird holds sentimental value to you then I say go with that as a middle name.

[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] is dashing too! (I’d say [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] Bluebird nn Birdie)…

Bluebird is “too weird” for me but I like the meaningful connection to your grandma. I prefer Bluebird as a nickname and I think it’s very sweet as a nickname. If you do want to use it (or just dream about it), I think [name_f]Emma[/name_f] Bluebird, [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] Bluebird and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] Bluebird are nice options.

Honestly I think Bluebird is lovely!

Daring middle names are becoming more & more popular if names like [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] or [name_f]Poem[/name_f] can be used on a regular basis why not Bluebird? I feel that with middle names you can go a bit wilder and I actually think that’s really cool. Bluebird is lovely and I love the connection to your Granny. I would use Bluebird over [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] the direct honour is the way forward in my eyes.

You’ve had a few suggestions so count any repeats as me being in agreement with the berries

[name_f]Evie[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Nell[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Leonora[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Faye[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_u]Alma[/name_u] Bluebird
[name_f]Selma[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Selah[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] Bluebird
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Lilia[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Sally[/name_f] Bluebird

[name_u]Love[/name_u] Bluebird and [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]!

I think it’s beautiful! I knew a girl named [name_f]Mae[/name_f] Blackbird

Wow it’s interesting hearing of someone in real life with the middle name. What was her opinion on her name?

She loved it, of course she lives in NY so shes got that going for her haha, but everyone around her just thought it was the cutest name ever, even as shes getting older, I still follow her on social media, she really appreciates her name

I absolutely love adventurous middles, so I think Bluebird is a fantastic idea! And what a sweet, lovely connection and story behind the name!

I’m not sure what your overall style is, so I tried to pick suggestions that are vintage with a touch of whimsy:

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_u]Florence[/name_u] Bluebird - I always love this one for nickname [name_f]Flossie[/name_f]!
[name_f]Posey[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Faye[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Minnie[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Celia[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Betsy[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Dolly[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Glory[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] Bluebird
[name_f]Winry[/name_f] Bluebird

Not weird at all. I personally don’t think middle names have to be as conventional (although really no name has to be if you like it, but I think you get what I mean) it’s like how [name_f]Bindi[/name_f] [name_m]Irwin[/name_m] named her new baby girl [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_u]Warrior[/name_u]. If it means something to you, go ahead, it’s adorable

Bluebird is one of my very favorite middle names anyway, but combined with the meaning behind it, I absolutely adore it for you! I think it’s definitely wearable as a middle. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] Bluebird has been mentioned a few times already, but I think that would be a pretty perfect combo. I love [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] as a first name too though!
