Hello, I’ve been loving the name [name_f]Boheme/name_f for a girl. What are your honest thoughts and opinions on the name? And middle name/first name suggestions are welcomed!
I think it’s cool and pretty, but I prefer the [name_u]Bo[/name_u]-em pronunciation.
I’d also automatically use the [name_u]French[/name_u] bo-em pronunciation. (As in La [name_f]Boheme[/name_f], the opera) Pronouncing it [name_u]Bo[/name_u]-heem reminds me of if you pronounced [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Mar[/name_f]-got, it’s just mispronouncing the [name_u]French[/name_u].
However, I think a point against the name in general would be that people would attempt to pronounce it bo-heem.
Completely agree.
I think it’s makes for a pretty name when pronounced correctly, but bo-heem sounds a little jilted to me.

[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] [name_f]Boheme[/name_f]

[name_f]Boheme[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Boheme[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f]
I love how “[name_f]Boheme[/name_f]” looks written down, but I actually prefer “[name_f]Bohemia[/name_f]” as a name. You could then call her “[name_u]Bo[/name_u]” or “[name_f]Boheme[/name_f]” for short (or even “[name_f]Mia[/name_f]”), and it wouldn’t look like you’re mispronouncing the [name_u]French[/name_u] word.
As for middle name options, I think [name_f]Bohemia[/name_f] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is super pretty.
Boheme is quite nice but it feels somehow incomplete to me
^^ Same here. I definitely like [name_f]Boheme[/name_f], but only with this pronunciation. Sorry.
I don’t know. It’s kind of a place name and kind of a modern word name, which does fit in with current trends. I’m all for word names, but I just don’t know about this one.
This name doesn’t appeal to me. I just find it rather pretentious, sorry. Plus I think people who are familiar with [name_u]French[/name_u]/the opera will say bo-em, not bo-heem.
Boheme is not my style.

[name_f]Boheme[/name_f] [name_f]Valerie[/name_f]
Frida [name_f]Boheme[/name_f]
[name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Boheme[/name_f]
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Boheme[/name_f]
I’ve been loving [name_f]Boheme[/name_f] lately but I agree with others that I much prefer the bo-em pronunciation.
I don’t like it. It’s just not my thing at all. I think the reason I don’t like it is because it’s such a straight forward word (as in, bohemian) and that always seems to bother me. I do pronounce it bo-heem, although I think bo-em sounds prettier.
Love the [name_u]French[/name_u] version [name_f]Boheme[/name_f] bo(h)eme
Boheme (heem) doesn’t feel quite as beautiful. It’s like I like [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] pronounced as in the U.K. (coming from the Celtic) im-uh-jen and hate the US pronunciation [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] (Im-oh-[name_u]Jean[/name_u]) it’s taking a soft delicate name and turning it less lovely .
I like [name_f]Boheme[/name_f]. It is interesting! Maybe…
[name_f]Boheme[/name_f] [name_f]Celestia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] [name_f]Boheme[/name_f]
[name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] [name_f]Boheme[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] [name_f]Boheme[/name_f]
[name_f]Boheme[/name_f] [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
[name_f]Boheme[/name_f] [name_f]Constancia[/name_f]
It’s still pronounced im-uh-jen in the US [name_f]Imogene[/name_f] gets pronounced as im-uh-jean, but not [name_f]Imogen[/name_f].
Oh ok. So [name_u]Bo[/name_u]-em is the correct pronunciation. Ok that’s what I initially thought.
Love:

[name_f]Boheme[/name_f] [name_f]Cosima[/name_f]
[name_f]Boheme[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f]
Thank you!
It’s pretty but all I can think of is bohemian
I like it better now that I realize it’s pronounced bo-em.
