We need some help/opinions on a boys name for a second son. Our first is [name]Caden[/name] [name]Jake[/name] and in in 2007 the [name]Caden[/name]/[name]Aiden[/name]/[name]Jaden[/name]/[name]Hayden[/name] phase had not really started yet and we thought we were being unique…guess we were wrong (I wish we would have used our other choices [name]Cannon[/name] or [name]Camden[/name])! We like interesting (not traditional) names that aren’t too out there/crazy. A few at the top of our list right now are:
[name]Griffin[/name] (Riff) - [name]Love[/name] it but not sure that we want to use another name that ends in an “N”
[name]Hudson[/name] - Same as above
[name]Beckett[/name] - We really like this one but nameberry says it is going to be one of the top names in the next few years
[name]Decker[/name]
I would love some opinions on these four and short middle names that go with them. If you have any other name suggestions that would go well with [name]Caden[/name] [name]Jake[/name] I’d love to hear those too. I also like short first names (like [name]Gage[/name], [name]West[/name] and [name]Nash[/name]) but I’m just not sure I’m in love with any of those. Thanks!
I like [name]Griffin[/name] a lot, and [name]Griff[/name] is a super cute nn. I also like [name]Beckett[/name] (although it’s fairly popular and trendy right now) and [name]Decker[/name]. I think [name]Decker[/name] is safe from becomming super trendy because it’s a little more unique and “risky” than most parents are willing to use.
[name]Nash[/name] and [name]West[/name] are also a couple of favorites, but they almost feel incomplete to me as first names, so I feel I may use them as middles.
I know a girl who has a [name]Caden[/name] and just had another little boy and named him [name]Cross[/name]. I also have a friend with a son named Crosse. I like the name a lot, but I’m not sure if it’s your style or not.
I like [name]Beckett[/name] with the nickname [name]Beck[/name] and I don’t think its that popular. I like [name]Griffin[/name] a lot too. I like [name]West[/name] as an mn but if your looking for more short names there’s:
[name]Dash[/name]
[name]Crew[/name]
[name]Leo[/name]
[name]Cade[/name]
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Max[/name]/[name]Pax[/name]
[name]Flynn[/name]/[name]Finn[/name]
[name]Kai[/name]
[name]Reid[/name]
[name]Cale[/name]
[name]Ash[/name]
[name]Penn[/name]
[name]Tate[/name]
[name]Sam[/name]
[name]Seth[/name]
Brett
Rhett
I have a [name]Kade[/name] and I named his little brother [name]Brody[/name] and we are expecting another little boy in a week that I think I am naming [name]Callum[/name]. I love kade and [name]Brody[/name] together and it is easy to say (especially when they are getting into little boy trouble together!). [name]Just[/name] a few ideas for you.
Thanks for all the opinions/suggestions so far…keep them coming!
Jshores - I like the name [name]Cross[/name]…it is pretty unique. Not sure if I want another “C” name because IF we decide to go for one more I would feel like I’d have to stick with that theme (that’s my rationale for not using another name that ends in “N” also). Although, my favorite girls names were [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Coralie[/name]…but if we were having a girl then I wouldn’t even be thinking of a 3rd baby…lol! What does everyone else think of [name]Cross[/name]? I think I’m going to add it to the list and see if it grows on me since I already kind of like it!
[name]Lori[/name] [name]Johnson[/name] - We have a [name]Parker[/name] in our group of friends already, but I still really like [name]Decker[/name] and think [name]Caden[/name] and [name]Decker[/name] would be good a good sibset. Also, I guess the “en” names just didn’t make their way to our area yet when we names our 1st…haha! We call our son “[name]Cade[/name]” sometimes…do you think “Deck” would be a good nickname as well?
[name]Jill[/name] - Thanks for all the great suggestions! For some reason, I just don’t love [name]Bennett[/name] (I like [name]Beckett[/name] so much more), but a couple on your list are interesting to me. I like [name]Lennox[/name], [name]Sawyer[/name], [name]Ryker[/name] and [name]Asher[/name]…good ideas! I need to think about these ones too and see if they grow on me!
Thanks again everyone…any more opinions are also welcome!
Yeah I really like [name]Decker[/name] & [name]Caden[/name]!
[name]Caden[/name] & [name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]Caden[/name] & [name]Asher[/name] are also some of my favs!
I think Deck & [name]Cade[/name] are so cute together.
That makes a lot of sense, actually. I know a family that has 4 kiddos. All of their names start with J except for 1 and she seems out of place in the bunch. So, if you pick another C name now, I feel like it’s a theme you’d probably want to stick with, although that’s not necessarily true. So, I think you should go with a name you like now and then worry about coming up with another name when that time comes. If it happens to be another C name, then so be it. That’s my rational for the time being
That being said, I think I like [name]Decker[/name] the most out of everything that has been mentioned. I think it’s a great name and not overly popular or trendy. It’s unique, but not too “out there.”
