[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone What do you think of the name [name_u]Izar[/name_u] or Isar for a boy?
[name_u]Izar[/name_u] means star, which i love, but i also love Isar as it is a river in Munich and hold significance to my family due to the location/history.
Is one of them more masculine? Would you pronounce the same? And what nicknames for a boy would you like for these?
I LOVE Basque names! So Im tempted to vote for [name_u]Izar[/name_u]. However with [name_u]Izar[/name_u] being more commonly used for girls and with Isar having more personal significance I would probably have to go with Isar.
I pronounce them fairly similar. [name_u]Izar[/name_u]: ih-ZSAR (the first syllable is kind of a smoosh between βih & eeβ)
Isar- ee-SAR. Slightly sharper sound for the first syllable and a slightly softer sound for the βsβ
