[name_f]My[/name_f] sister in law just gave birth yesterday to “[name_u]Jameson[/name_u]”. This was the name my husband and I wanted to use if our next child is a boy. (I’m not upset with them for using it - they had it on their list as well. This is their fourth child with a J name!) I am however slightly sad that we can no longer use it since it was our perfect name that checked all the boxes.
Our two year old son is [name_m]William[/name_m] (family tradition) “[name_u]Liam[/name_u]” [name_m]David[/name_m]. I love that [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] is a modern spin on a common name. I want a name that sounds strong and isn’t too “out there” but isn’t too common and boring either. I also would like for it to have a nickname or several nicknames. We were going to use the nickname [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] or JJ for [name_u]Jameson[/name_u].
I’m having so much trouble finding another name that I like as much. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
EDIT: I’d like for the nickname to be two syllables. Two syllable nicknames just sound so much cuter to me for a little boy.

I don’t mind [name_u]Jackson[/name_u] or [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]. The issue is with the nicknames. I think I’d like for the nickname to be two syllables. So [name_m]Jack[/name_m] wouldn’t work but possibly JJ!
For [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] it could be [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] but my husband said he’d call him [name_u]Nat[/name_u] if we did that which I don’t like at all lol.

The only one I can think of that I didn’t see mentioned is [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], possibly nicknamed [name_m]Artie[/name_m] or [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]? I like [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] with [name_u]Liam[/name_u] and am wondering if a middle name combo with [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] like [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]Logan[/name_u] could make that one usable?! Jensen immediately came to mind. Since it bears the same meaning as [name_u]Jackson[/name_u]/Johnson, [name_m]Johnny[/name_m]/Jonny is an applicable nickname.
My first thought was [name_m]Jenson[/name_m] with the nickname options of [name_f]Jen[/name_f], [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] or JJ. You might also like [name_u]Addison[/name_u] - [name_f]Addy[/name_f], [name_u]Sonny[/name_u], [name_m]Bryson[/name_m] - Bry, [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] - [name_f]Em[/name_f], [name_f]Emer[/name_f], [name_m]Jason[/name_m] - [name_u]Jay[/name_u] or [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] - [name_u]Harri[/name_u].
I prefer to choose a name that I really love and use it exclusively rather than call him by a nickname so personally, it wouldn’t bother me if I found a name I love without a two syllable nickname. Otherwise, I wouldn’t discard a name perfect in every other way because of no nickname potential. If the name you love the most doesn’t have an intuitive two syllable nickname you can use one unrelated to the name itself, just one that suits the child.
