Boy Name Suggestions

I’ve always found finding girl names much easier than finding names for boys.

So far, I’ve had 2 little girls, but we someday want to have a third child, so I’m starting to collect more boy names.

I have a few, but I’m not completely sure on any of them. Could you offer your input on these names, and then suggest a few you think I might like please? Thank you!

[name]Arthur[/name]
[name]Beckham[/name]
[name]Eames[/name]
[name]Emmett[/name]
[name]Gavin[/name]
[name]Milo[/name]
[name]Noel[/name] (pronounced as in Joel, or Cole)
[name]Seth[/name]

It’s a very distinguished and serious group of names, with some modern biblical favorites thrown in. It would help to know your daughters’ names, to see what might match best.

I like the British vibe of [name]Noel[/name] and [name]Arthur[/name], the WASPy flair of [name]Beckham[/name] and [name]Eames[/name], and the hipster feel of [name]Milo[/name]. [name]Beckham[/name] however is very much a celebrity name due to [name]David[/name] [name]Beckham[/name] and family; [name]Milo[/name] is extremely popular; and [name]Emmett[/name] is tainted by Twilight. Of the list, I like, in order:

[name]Arthur[/name]
[name]Noel[/name]
[name]Eames[/name]
[name]Gavin[/name]
[name]Milo[/name]
[name]Seth[/name]

and wouldn’t use [name]Beckham[/name] or [name]Emmett[/name].

Based purely on the list, some suggestions:

[name]Graham[/name]
[name]Everett[/name]
[name]Bennett[/name]
[name]Arlo[/name]
[name]Malachi[/name]
[name]Asher[/name]
[name]Hayes[/name]
[name]Simon[/name]
[name]Jonas[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Cyril[/name]
[name]Ian[/name]

I really love [name]Everett[/name], [name]Asher[/name], [name]Hayes[/name] and [name]Jonas[/name]. [name]Everett[/name] is a great alternative to [name]Emmett[/name], because yes I worried about the twilight aspect, and that it’s really rather popular lately. My daughter’s names are [name]Lina[/name] and [name]Kyla[/name]. [name]Lina[/name]'s full name is [name]Evangeline[/name]. Thank you so much, your answer was so great and well thought out!

[name]Arthur[/name]- A bit clunky in my opinion. I can only picture it on an elderly person. Maybe best used in the mn spot.
[name]Beckham[/name]- I have no real appreciation of surnames especially one of a celebrity.
[name]Eames[/name]- Interesting but depending on where you live it might not do well
[name]Emmett[/name]- a great underused classic. Not too soft but not too macho.
[name]Gavin[/name]- [name]Lovely[/name] Celtic name with a great meaning, “white hawk” it’s secretly macho!
[name]Milo[/name]- sounds like a dogs name to me
[name]Noel[/name]- I’d rather see [name]Nolan[/name]
[name]Seth[/name]- [name]Love[/name] this, gives a rugged cowboy feel

I’d suggest [name]Abram[/name], [name]Jonah[/name], [name]Davis[/name], and [name]Wesley[/name]

I like beckham!

[name]Arthur[/name]: Unfortunately, even the [name]King[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] link to myth can’t save this name for me. It just sounds old and unattractive.
[name]Beckham[/name]: I immediately think [name]David[/name] [name]Beckham[/name]. I would not merely associate the name with him but be under the impression that you named your kid after him. I have never seen the name anywhere else.
[name]Eames[/name]: Very fun. I prever [name]Eamon[/name] ([name]Eames[/name] could be a nickname), but I like how English it feels. It’s hard for me to see it on an actual person though.
[name]Emmett[/name]: I love [name]Emmett[/name]. [name]Don[/name]'t worry about Twilight. They just had great names in the book.
[name]Gavin[/name]: Not my favorite
[name]Milo[/name]: I am really loving [name]Milo[/name] right now. I liked [name]Miles[/name] and then I found [name]Milo[/name] and I think it is just great.
[name]Noel[/name]: too feminine for my taste.
[name]Seth[/name]: This makes me think of the brilliant novel Cold [name]Comfort[/name] Farm where the main character says that all farmers have oversexed sons named [name]Reuben[/name] and [name]Seth[/name] and then she visits her farmer cousins and they do, in fact, have oversexed sons named [name]Reuben[/name] and [name]Seth[/name]. It’s not a bad association. I also like the cowboy vibe.

You have cool taste!

I’d cut out [name]Beckham[/name] (too strongly associated to [name]David[/name] [name]Beckham[/name]) and [name]Noel[/name] (replace with [name]Noah[/name]?).
The rest are solid options (though I’d have to sit on [name]Eames[/name] for awhile to know if I like it or not). [name]Arthur[/name]'s a bit antique, but in a good way, though I think it works particularly well as a MN. [name]Emmett[/name] is a great name, and the Twilight connection will fade away over time (it’s far from a timeless classic type of book/tv series). [name]Gavin[/name] and [name]Seth[/name] are alright, just nms, but solid names nonetheless. [name]Milo[/name] is pretty cool, though I prefer [name]Miles[/name].
