Pregnant with our first and we will not find out the sex. Last night I presented my husband with my top boy and girl list (over dinner, printed out like a true name nerd) and we both loved and agreed on a few top girls names.
Boys names were less successful. Hoping to ask for some suggestions to add!
I prefer tailored, known, but not common names. Okay to be in lower top 100 if it’s a classic and has always been there, but prefer outside 100. We live in [name_m]California[/name_m].
Middle name will be [name_m]Jerry[/name_m] and last name is VanH(rhymes with mesh).
Names we like, but not 100% both in agreement:
[name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_m]Dexter[/name_m]
[name_m]Graham[/name_m]
Names we both like but can’t use (know someone with this name, etc.)
[name_m]Julian[/name_m]
[name_m]Damian[/name_m]
[name_m]Wesley[/name_m]
[name_m]Elliot[/name_m]
[name_m]Miles[/name_m]
[name_m]Grant[/name_m]
How are you with “o” ending names? They seem to fit better with the mn [name_m]Jerry[/name_m] than “r” ending names.
For example, instead of [name_m]Miles[/name_m], [name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_m]Jerry[/name_m] works well.
Suggesting you first focus on choosing a first name that you love and that flows beautifully with your last name as that is how he will be known, and while the middle name is a big consideration, it is rarely said with our first and last. Any of the three names on your list would be great.
I had the same issue as you when naming our first baby. DH and I agreed on some girls’ names, but he crossed out every single one of my favourite boys’ names.
I did what you are planning to do, and came back to him with a fresh list. He immediately picked out a name he liked (it’s the surname of his favourite author). That’s our son’s name now and it suits him perfectly. I can’t imagine him being named anything else!
Here’s some suggestions for you based on the names you like:
